Quickest (2-3 weeks?) & Most Drinkable Brew With Limited Equipment

Mate, I definitely lost track there somewhere around the tummy part! Ginger beer sounds pretty good, I'll look into it

My general impression of wheats is that they're super strong, is that right? Not really tried many

Sadly I'm still working 50 hours a week, so I'm just going to cram it all in over a Saturday and watch and wait Still, that's the hobby!

Haha, that's faint praise indeed! Desperate times though!! Just found 3 demijohns though, so maybe I'll make some of that and stick a beer on too

I've also had a suggestion via DM (as it's not beer) of a shop bought fruit juice based wine which can turn around in about 10 days Decisions decisions

Cider with apples stored over winter

Thanks for all the info! I'd also bet it'll be awesome. Pic looks like you stored them with a bit of space between and in a single layer is that right?

Quickest (2-3 weeks?) & Most Drinkable Brew With Limited Equipment

I'm locked down in my in-laws place for the foreseeable, and I've got very limited equipment up here. Well, plenty of apple scratting and pressing gear but I'm about 6 months early for all that! What would you recommend I brew to get something worth drinking in the next 2 - 3 weeks? Frankly...

Cider with apples stored over winter

I've done a good few batches of cider from raw fruit and I've found it to be the most forgiving brewing experience ever. I'd probably want to get the temperature up a bit though. Do you have a belt heater or something to warm it? Quick question though, how did you go about storing the apples...

How far out of date is too far? Mangrove Jack Partial Mash Kit

Well, I ended up brewing it "as is". I made a large 2 litre starter to give the yeast the best chance and got a really big slurry to set things in motion. I must have made some sort of mistake in the boiling or something because it sure is the darkest American Pale Ale I've ever seen. Seen...

How far out of date is too far? Mangrove Jack Partial Mash Kit

Thanks for all the advice, people. A few people are saying to top up the hops. What should I be adding and when? I'm totally ignorant of any sort of mashing! Sorry for asking daft questions!

How far out of date is too far? Mangrove Jack Partial Mash Kit

Hi I have just found one of these which I forgot I bought a few years ago. The best before date is March 2017. Do you think I should bin it, replace some ingredients with new ones or just brew it as is? I will definitely make a yeast starter, given the age of the dry yeast and replace if it...

    bulldog easter brew

Mine started at 1038! Checked with 2 Hydrometers :( Didn't have time to think any more about it on brew day, so I pitched the yeast and left it to it's own devices. Fermented pretty fiercely for about 12 hours and then dropped off. 1020 was the reading then. I added a pinch of yeast nutrient...
