    Best plastic fv bins.

Coopers without a shadow of doubt. No airlock, no messing about with taps, no thin handles that make carrying a pain. I'm actually thinking of throwing out my others and getting another Coopers to use if I need to do a secondary.

Coopers fermenter vs. other plastic fermenters

So I'll throw in my thoughts as to why the Coopers fermenter is the best to use vs any other plastic fermenter. Made from thicker plastic, which makes them far more rigid and easier to handle the weight of the brew The chunky handles on the side make carrying the whole thing far easier The...

Complacency got the better of me

Hi All, Haven't been on for a while, but still been brewing 🙂 and making pretty good alcoholic beverages. Anyway started a Festival German Weiss last night, decent kit, so made sure everything was spot on (cleaned everything, made sure the yeast had come up to room temp etc. etc.). finished...

    Meniscus & ABV calculation

I'm confused!? (happens easily) I got a strip torn off me the other day, when my wife looked at the hydrometer reading when I was taking my OG. She said that you have to take the reading at the middle/base of the fluid, not the raised edge (Like I have been doing since I started). Technically...

    My first Wherry

Hi people, I'm on to my second brew this year (slow start I know). Trying to use up all my supplies, so have this Wherry and grabbed a Wilko limited edition pilsner to use up a solid Coopers BE2. After doing my usual read up on this kit, I've bought new yeast (CMF Real Ale). First proper two...

Late to the party - B&M A IPA

Had a few months off brewing, mainly due to one small bundle of joy (ish...lol), so just using up all my remaining ingredients before I splash some dosh and buy some new kits! I know everyone has probably brewed, drunk and forgotten their B&M kit, so will keep this short: The kit plus 220g of...

John bull country cider, add spice?

Check my post out, already done it and its bloody brilliant! I used some fine mesh bags from ebay to hold all the spice together and make it easier when bottling (no bits). You can add anything to be honest, but just google traditional spices and throw it in!

    Brewbuddy Lager (Yawn...)

This one has had about 4 months in the bottle now and ultimately I don't really like it. That's not to say its undrinkable, some people will probably love it, but I find its a bit too 'home brewey' Australianish lager (not really refreshing). The lime flavour comes through, but doesn't over...

Pimped Christmas John Bull Cider kit

Been a while since I was on here, but have three brews which have had about 3 months in the bottle, so are more than ripe for drinking. No shortage of fizz (also did some without priming), the smell once you crack the top is amazing - Full on Christmas spice! I cracked one early and it...

    The Lenny Henry birthday show.

He's done a lot for Comic relief and generally he was a good entertainer, but I must say his comedy is very thin at times and always plays on the 'black man' aspect which seems to be very outdated nowadays. I watched some of it last night and turned off as it was just plain boring.

How many units per week. [POLL]

I'm probably in the region of 2-3 pints a week, along with low/non alcoholic beers. Pretty boring, but I prefer water/juice/diet fizzy most of the time.
