    Leave in primary or not?

I've had my 2 brewferm kits and edme stout in primary for 7 months odd. Done no harm at all. Just going to bottle straight from primary. Tastes great.

    Sour grapes?

Hi all. I have just been given 11.5kg of green sour grapes. I am guessing they are not ripe yet. They are small grapes. I will put a picture up. Is it worth me making wine out of them or should I just avoid trying to make wine with them??? This will be my first time making wine from grapes. If...

    Bottle cleaning!

I like that idea. To contact a glass manufacturer. That would be good. If you had weed killer in it I don't think there is much more that could have been in these. I will put a pic up of them when I get a chance.

    Bottle cleaning!

Hi everyone. I recently found a load of bottles that have obviously been dumped down I large alleyway in amongst stinging nettles and other rubbish. They are strong green and brown 2 litre bottles. Does anyone think they would be worth picking up and using? Or just don't bother with them? They...

    Potton Press sweet spot

All very interesting. Might give 2 small batches ago. Experimenting with sweetener and maple syrup. If anyone gets a chance to taste sweet spot cider. Go for it. If you like sweet and not fizzy then you will love it.

    Potton Press sweet spot

Thanks. That would be great. I was just wandering if there is a certain specific way to make a cider brewed at home that can be so sweet. Is there something you add to make the sweet flavour? Maybe the conditioning? That's what I would like to know. Let me know if you manage to find out. Cheers.

    Potton Press sweet spot

Hi. I had a few pints of Potton Press Sweet Spot at the Rochford beer and cider festival. I was just wandering if anyone knows a good recipe to make a clone of it. As far as I know you can only get it at beer festivals. It was the nicest, sweet, non-carbonated cider I have ever tasted. Need to...

    Are these rose hips?

Would it be possible to put your recipe up on here. I'm going to do singles. Unless I can get enough hips. A good recipe for a gallon. Batch would be brilliant. Cheers. Going to get mine this weekend and put in the freezer.

    Are these rose hips?

I have plenty dog rose hips in my area. They are a lot smaller and harder I would say. I read they you pick them after first frost. Am I right in thinking that will be the middle of November odd.?? There are literally 100's I can get hold of. Please let me know as I am unsure when to pick them...

    freezing rowanberrys

I have read lots of reviews saying that the wine is not good. But I will be trying it out. I am willing to sacrifice my time, a demijohn and 6 empty wine bottles to see what it's like. I have read that it is best left in the bottle and not opened for 1-3 years. Now that is a very long time. But...

    Rowan Wine Anyone?

I'm thinking of doing one too in the next couple of weeks. Is it possible you could put the recipe on here. Would you have to just cook the berries? Or put in a fermenter for a week odd with the usual chemicals? I have never made a wine from scratch. Will be a first go for me. Cheers. Good luck...

    It's foraging weekend!!!

Well. Managed to get hold of 3kg of blackberries and roughly 4kg of elderberries still on stalks. Took a couple of hours but was worth it. Now all in the freezer bagged up.

    Horse anyone ?

I would buy it. In other European countries horse is eaten the same as beef and chicken is eaten here.
