I think I've got a dodgy hydrometer, because it's got a lean to it whenever it's in liquid. Anyway, reading that the beginning was 1.042 and at the end it was 1 dead on. As far as I remember this means it'll come out around the 5.5% ~ 6% mark.

I've actually bottled this brew already, but didn't get a chance to make a post about it until now - sat on a delayed train on Easter Sunday. Made a plain TC following Roddy's recipe. Used Asda cheapo apple juice, coming out to 14 litres in total. Tasted sweeter than expected before bottling...

I've got some Turbo Cider on the go and don't want it to end up dry as the Sahara. What's the verdict on the best sweetener to use? Which one affects taste the least like chemicals? Stevia already seems like a good bet, but more opinions would be great.
