Kegging homebrew beer for a pub?

Hi all, I shared a few bottles of my latest all grain pale ale with some pub going mates, which included the landlord of our local pub. Much to my smug appreciation, they were suitable impressed with my brew! The landlord said that if I could keg it he would definitely sell it at my local...

    Advice with Lagering

Hi all, Earlier this month I decided to try my hand at brewing an AG lager for the first time. I'm pretty new to AG but I have a Bulldog Brewer which (when it's working!) makes the whole process fairly straightforward. I've brewed IPAs and a 'winter warmer' successfully but never a lager as I...

    What did you brew today?

Hi chaps, Thanks for all the advice. I brewed the 'Wreck the Halls' festival ale yesterday (bit late for Christmas but should be good by mid-Jan I'd hope!) 22L at an OG of 1060 which looks (and smells) very promising. I've just finished brewing the St. Austells 1851 IPA today... awaiting the...

    What did you brew today?

Hi folks, I'm just about to embark on my first ever all-grain brew! Pretty excited about it as I took delivery of a 'Bulldog Brewer V.3' yesterday and also received three recipe packs to get me going. I've got a 'Wreck the Halls' winter ale, St. Austell 1851 IPA (both from BrewUK) and a Hop...

Out of Date Kit - Viable?

Hi chaps, Thanks very much for your advice. The kit itself looks fine - no problems with the tin - so I'll get a gervin yeast as suggested and give it a bash! All the best, Mark

Out of Date Kit - Viable?

Hi there, I've just been given a Burton Bridge Bitter 1.8kg kit which has a 'Best Before' date of May 2017, i.e. 4 months past it's prime. Is it still worth attempting or should I get a new yeast sachet to use with it... or just bin the lot?! Thanks for your advice, Mark

    Turbo Merlot!

Ooh... sounds good! I wasn't actually aware that existed as we don't have a Waitrose nearby but I've just Googled it and it looks very decent... twice the price of the Sainsbury's RGJ however :( I'll give it a go at some point though... probably on it's own in a 5 litre brew... I wouldn't...

    Turbo Merlot!

Hi guys, Agreed, it's definitely not 'fine wine' unmodified! I'm pretty pleased with the results of the tweeks I made although I would definitely reduce the sugar content in future because I'm sure that's what gives the Winebuddy kits that horrible 'glycerin' flavour. I topped up the FV to...

    Turbo Merlot!

Hi all, I'm not sure if this post should be in the 'Wine Kit Reviews' section or this one but I chose this one because the kit was so extremely modified it felt more appropriate! I started off with a WineBuddy Merlot 30 bottle kit which I've done before and swore I would never do again but I...

    Hello everyone!

Hi there, I'm Mark and I'm relatively new to the wonderful world of home brewing... but loving it already! I've been living in France (Bordeaux region) for the past 15 years so was a bit stunned when we moved back home to Blighty (Cambridgeshire to be precise) and 'rediscovered' the price...

    Help.

...I've been using that forum for several months now and found it very useful (admittedly I'm a wine maker not a beer brewer... although I'm bound to give it a go at some point!) but tried to log on this morning and got the same 'Banned' message. A quick search on google led me to this thread...
