I did mine last year but to 5 gallon, and tried a bottle this week, I was hopping it would have lost some of its fruitiness as it seems to taste a bit like fruit juice still. I will try n brew short next time . I have a friend that is sampling a bottle , they are a Rioja drinker and will report...
Guys n Gals, just make sure u sanitize well, extra precaution use a bottling brush and make sure u rinse really well, don't leave any debri around the edges. Don't rush it and forget a hydrometer reading :doh:
The selection kits are well worth the money.
My advice is not to skimp on the cleaning of equipment and follow all guidlines etc , but the finished wine will be well worth it

I got 29 Demis full as well as 60 plus bottls full.
Am trying the free site for more demis , to get brewing again.
I am starting to be able to make some wines such as Beaverdale and Kenridge and looking to leave them in the Demis for 6-12 months :D
I had the same problem , but it was not that i had filled the bottles to much , it was that I have a 2 handed corker and at the top are 2 nuts that are pretty loose on a thread with a spring.

For wine and beer (if bottling) I rack off into another vessel, Then I will bottle. On the point of doing the bottling solo I purchased a bottling stick (about £4) and it allows you to bottle really easily.
Now I have read this, I did not add any Pectose to my cider :hmm:
I got it stored in Demijohns and had a look at it and it got a thin scum on the top :wha:

Also I think mine worked out to 3.6
With regards to floaters and I know I may get a telling of here, but I syphoned of through a tea strainer into a F bucket and then bottled.
And what a superb drink it is :thumb:
