    First brewday

Update on this thread. I was going to leave it for another week before tasting, honestly I was. But I am a weak, weak man. I tried a bottle, after a 2 weeks in the FV and 1 week in the bottle. I was surprised to find it was a GORGEOUS drink, even this soon after bottling! Looking forward to...

    Isinglass in the keg

Just a normal keg with a spigot at the bottom, I think I'll just leave it and bottle it as-is. I might leave it for another week

    Isinglass in the keg

I was going to put the AG beer i whipped up last week into a keg tomorrow. First brewday

Thanks. Well the yeast seems to have hit the ground running. Less than 3 hours later and it's already bubbling away. Complete Newbie!!! :-)

I can recommend this http://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/acatalog/Bulldog-Beer-Kit-Evil-Dog-Double-IPA.html. I made it and it tasted VERY good. It's strong though, two pints would blow my socks off. It also benefits from 6-8 weeks of conditioning.

    Hello from Brackley

Thanks guys, really appreciate your answers. I've had Fil's posts open on my phone all morning! I'm about 10 minutes off sparging now, my temperatures seem to have been pretty good so far. I just hope that the Jam thermometer I bought yesterday is accurate enough (and I'm so glad I didn't go...

    Hello from Brackley

Hey all, First full-mash brew day tomorrow, looking forward to it! I'm going for the 'Amarillo Single Hop Ale' from Greg Hughes' Home Brew Beer book. I have all the malt, hops and equipment all ready and a liquid yeast starter I've been feeding for a couple of days in the fridge to chill out...
