    Sanitisation and water...

If you are looking for a low water version I just use medical sanitising wipes (for me Clinell Universal wipes), not very expensive and I figure effective if they are used in hospitals. Never had any issues with contamination. I do use wide necked FVs so you can wipe them out easily though...

How to degas wine with a home made degassing wand

I always try and avoid anything recommended by that Matt Williams guy. I remember watching a few of his videos when starting and god he makes it sound like a dull and laborious process. Also the white sheet background makes it seem that he is half way through clearing up after murdering his...

    No bubbling

    Red wine kit quality

Interesting to read. I do the Beaverdale kits and although they produce a drinkable red I still buy shop reds for a treat. I suspect that a lot of it is just age rather than an issue with the kit itself, I don't have anywhere cool to keep it so it tends to be drunk within weeks rather than...

    Sparkling wine

Some of the cheapest drinkable wine in France is sparkling but I have always assumed it is carbonated like normal fizzy drinks. Can't see them buggering around with secondary fermentation. http://www.carrefour-calais.com/default/sire-de-beaupre-brut.html
