    Russian Imperial Stout

The longer you leave it the better, it the alcohol will be more apparent due to the strength the younger you drink it. I brewed my March 2018 for the Christmas 9 months later, I had a couple of bottles last June though with a Mate, but kept the rest for the Winter/Christmas and it really melded...

    Youngs American IPA

20-24ºc is the recommended optimal temperature for this kit, I would used the upstairs room if you can, it sounds ideal, like Ghostship said don't stick it right next to the radiator though. Personally I would bottle this every time as it is a style of beer that should be carbonated. Also...

    Youngs American IPA

I'll be doing this kit for the 6th time tomorrow (Xmas Present) once I've bottled the Young's New World Saison that is the FV at the moment. It's very hard to get this kit wrong, (excluding the time Young's put the wrong malt extract in the kit) it has always turned out spot on, it's a very...

    Young's AIPA Help!

I emailed Young's last night before posting, they have been very quick to respond this morning and agree that something is not correct and are sending me a replacement kit, so can't fault them for their Customer Service, in the meantime I have very interesting flavoured beer to consume o_O

    Young's AIPA Help!

I've brewed Young's AIPA 2 times before without any issues, this time however after conditioning the beer appears to be really dark, almost like a Red Ale, it tastes slightly fruity as well, with a definite note of blackcurrant both on the nose and the finish. I do vaguely remember when adding...

    Best ipa kit

I've done quite a few IPA kits now but always go back to the Young's AIPA, I've done it 3 times this year, I always bottle it in smaller bottles because of its strength but as someone else said you could easily reduce the sugar to reduce the final ABV if you desire.

Mangrove Jack Simcoe Single Hop Ipa Review

I'm drinking this right now after bottling it on the 13th of June, I agree it's good, personally for flavour I prefer the Young's AIPA but that's just personal choice. I've also done the MJ Grapefruit IPA which I am really disappointed with, not sure if it's something I have done but it's very...

    Youngs APA IBU?

Ah no worries, easily done, that's also good to know as I have the APA now in the FV as of today.

    Need a beer kit recommendation

If the price point is not a concern then I would recommend one of the Young's Premium Kits, personally I like their American Indian Pale Ale which I have made twice now, the reason I would recommend this is that I think it's quite a forgiving kit, I've managed to reach above the predicted...

    Youngs APA IBU?

So the Youngs AIPA is less bitter than the APA? If that's the case she is not going to like the APA because she finds AIPA to bitter, I'll have to give the MJ's APA a go. TY

    Youngs APA IBU?

Looks perfect, I've done a couple MJ's kits before whilst the "Free Enhancer" offer was on with them, I'll definitely put this on my to do list, in fact I think it will be the next one I do after the Youngs APA, thank you. That sounds promising, I do have the APA arriving tomorrow, so I'll...

    Youngs APA IBU?

Does anyone have an idea of what the IBU of Youngs APA is approximately? The Mrs is looking for something not too bitter to drink, she likes Dead Pony which has an IBU of 40 if I am not mistaken? I've brewed Youngs AIPA 2 times now and she finds it too bitter on the finish. TIA

    Cwtch by Tiny Rebel Brewery

I have this in the FV at the moment, started it 5 days ago, brewed exactly as instructed SG was 10.042, I have it in the fridge @ 21ºc and noticed that airlock activity had all but halted after just 4/5 days, took a reading and it's 10.009, I know I should be happy but I'm kind of a little...

    Masterpint czech pilsener, anyone?

It tastes remarkable like Urquell Lager which is good. Slightly darker than a traditional German lager, but still very clean, light and crisp in taste with an ever so slight caramel finish, which I believe it should have for a traditional Czech Pilsner. A couple more days conditioning in the...

    Masterpint czech pilsener, anyone?

Had a little sample last night and it's spot on, tastes just as I would expect it to, very clear, carbonated well and is refreshing, the only negative part is head retention but for a kit that costs less than a tenner it's a winner.

    It's all Munton's

The Young's American Indian Pale Ale is one of their premium kits, it's not a cheap kit, it contains everything you need including Dry Hops and Priming Sugar, they do several more, APA, Red Indian Ale, American Amber Ale, New World Saison, Oaked Rum Ale amd Mocha Porter. Ballihoo Home Brew...

    It's all Munton's

Are you able to get Young's Kits at all out there? I'm not that experienced but the Young's American IPA is the best kit I have done to date, in fact I was so happy with it that I have just started the same one again and it ships with 20g of yeast. You'll see that both the American IPA and the...

The last Stuck Woodfordes Kit Thread.

It's crazy, just done Young's AIPA for the second time this evening and it has a whopping 20g of yeast included, I think Muntons need to take a leaf out of their book.

    Can fermentation be too fast?

Also check that Hydrometer hasn't got cracked or damaged between readings (Based on personal experience), they can be surprisingly delicate.

    Masterpint czech pilsener, anyone?

Yes it comes with 10g of "Beer Yeast" and going by the destructions for fermentation temperature it would have been an Ale Yeast, I had a spare packet of MJ 84 left over from a previous Lager, which is mainly why I decided to use it instead, M84 is titled as a Bohemian Lager Yeast and described...
