    Hi Honey, I'm home...

NOTHING wrong with self-abuse; at least it's sex with someone you love... b'dum-tish!

    Hi Honey, I'm home...

Thank you - I'm using 1.6ml/L at the mo and am looking forwards to how the brew turns out. If it's okay, I'm then going to get a couple of Brewfirm 20 pinters too. Q on the Star San: I mixed a bottle for "splash on for 30 sec, drain off, reuse" and overnight it went cloudy. Does this mean I...

    Hi Honey, I'm home...

Racked into borttles today. More concerned about my lack of experience with Star San than the return to TC working.

15 litre FV - Brew belt?

Thank you, you've confirmed what I had in my head. Brew-belt, not pad has been ordered (just because of reviews) and STC 1000 eagerly awaited (WHERE IS IT!!!!!!??????). I only need head and I have a firm plastic box already to hand!

15 litre FV - Brew belt?

Thank you! I now have an STC 1000 on order from eBay and an heat-pad from Wilco. I'll cobble the system together before my next brew!

15 litre FV - Brew belt?

So, from what a brief skim suggests, power to STC1000, STC1000 to brew-belt. Set STC to 18 degC and fit the FV on top of the STC Thermometer, both on an insulated (packing foam?) base?

15 litre FV - Brew belt?

Thank you both. As it is for cider mainly (currently), I need a steady temp of approx 18 degC so I think I'll investigate the STC1000 option as it looks like I'll be able to achieve this temp as well as keeping my options open for higher fermentations. Looks like some time to be spent...

15 litre FV - Brew belt?

Hi all Getting my eye back in with small batches; cider mainly. The wife and I are warm bodies and the house is only ever heated to 18 degrees C and falls to (typically) 12-14 overnight. In the old house, my brews lived in the airing cupboard. Nonesuch in our new one and so my fermentation...

    Hi Honey, I'm home...

Hi all and thank you for your concerns! I've never lost a batch of cider yet and I can honestly say I've not noticed any unpleasantness from bread yeast. When I got into TC (something to bang out between brews) I was a poster on JBK and TC started out as just AJ and bread yeast. I have used...

    Hi Honey, I'm home...

Long before it ruined my marriage I gave up homebrewing. I can tell exactly when; my son is 11 and I "voluntarily gave up" to free up time for our home life. I'm 47 now and I find my tastes have changed from beers to ciders and I thought, when recently buying a 4-pack of a well know Scrumpy...

    Returning Homebrewer

Thank you all! Anyone know of cheap/budget cider kit suppliers where I can "get my eye back in"?

    Returning Homebrewer

Hi all I used to homebrew but, due to timing and wife issues, gave up when the kids were small. Not looking to get back into brewdays or all-grain but I did enjoy mucking about with cider (from turbo through kits to scrumpy) and would like to get into traditional wines. Just taken...
