    Hi all, Anyone got any idea what The HomeBrew Company charge for carriage if I'm only ordering acouple of yeasts? Can't be the standard £6.95, surely?

    Make cider less watery

    One way to make it less watery is to replace some or all of the water with apple juice. You can cut down on the amount of sugar you would have had to add to the kit by the amount of sugars in the juice (as listed on the back of the carton) This will make it less watery and give more of an apple...

    Cider yeast - need some residual sweetness

    You could try adding some honey. The first couple of batches of TC I did came out really dry. After that I've been adding approx 340 - 500 grams of cheap clear honey (in a 22 litre batch). It gives it a bit more body with a tad more sweetness. I don't think the sugars in the honey ferment out fully.

    If it were me, I'd replace all the water with apple juice. That'll give it more body and flavour.

    Cheap Apple Juice

    Hi All, You might like to know that Lidl are knocking out their Vitafit 100% Pure Apple Juice at £0.46 per 1.5 litre carton this Saturday and Sunday ONLY. 31p per litre ! :D It makes a very decent TC.
