    Grape concentrate substitute

I assumed it being concentrate it wouldn't equal the same, due to solid weight vs liquid (in my head anyway). But iv never tried it didn't know if anyone's ever tried

    Grape concentrate substitute

Has anybody got a conversion to how many sultanas would make up 250ml grape concentrate? I'm making some elderflower sparkling wine but thinking of using sultanas rather than grape concentrate. Thanks

    Sugar, dissolve or not dissolve

Interesting, I assumed it wouldnt matter as sugars from fruits still ferment. But good to know. I usually boil water add everything then pitch yeast the next day when temperatures are stable

    Sugar, dissolve or not dissolve

When making wine, has anybody tried not dissolving sugar in water first and just throw it in? I always dissolve it first for ease but I always wondered isit necessary?

    Apple wine

I'm about to make some apple wine, I got 5kg of previously frozen apple peices in the bucket with some Campden to sterilise, I'm going to top up the water add yeast and sugar later. But have just wondered how much sugar to add, I can't find my wine books since moving and I don't want to make...

    Sparking wine

I have realised I'll have a bit of sediment left, but how much it will effect the wine I'm not sure. I might clear it completely and then add a bit of sugar and yeast again, might get less sediment? But I was wondering if I leave it enough the sediment might stick better to the bottom of the bottle

    Sparking wine

So I out in 4 demijohns of WoW wine to experiment with. Think I will white till gravity is 1 and add a teaspoon of sugar per bottle and leave somewhere warm

    Sparking wine

Yh I have some plastic bottles which should be good for it. Which is why I thought let it ferment in the bottle just not sure what gravity to rack it over at

    Sparking wine

I don't gave much gear like that unfortunately. I was thinking of letting it finish fermenting in the bottle, just worried about bottles exploding

    Sparking wine

Interesting, I was thinking more doing a forced carbonation similar to when priming beer into bottles

    Sparking wine

Hi, I have never made sparkling wine before and tempted to give it a go. How do you all recommend this? Do I just bottle at a specific gravity or do I need to add more sugar and yeast in post fermentation? Thanks

    Big tin of marmalade

Has anyone made marmalade wine? I found this tin in morrisons today and thought I have a go at making it into wine only a few quid. My idea is dissolve this into water add sugar to make it around 12% and leave at that maybe a mug of tea in there aswell

    Youngs red wine kit

I kept prioritising different brews. It's been in the bucket a week now I'm just about to go check the gravity. Hopefully I'll be able to not drink it all before Christmas which was my plan for it all

    Spare hops

So my hop plants seem to be nearly ready for harvest, but I had planned to have a all grain brew setup ready, but that's not possible now for the foreseeable future due to a house move and having a induction hob now. What's everyone's ideas on what to do with fuggle, golding and challenger hops...
