    Are these corny kegs OK?

Hi guys I have the chance to buy some 2nd hand corny kegs for a really decent price. I can also buy the add ons as seen in the pictures. I'm a complete novice when it comes to kegs so I was just wondering if there's anything specific I should look for? Appreciate the help! Cheers

Pre boiling water to remove bicarbonates.

I have the complete analysis but as I said it's pointless as I have analysis from 3 different sources.

    Where does it say that?

Pre boiling water to remove bicarbonates.

We're in Bordeaux. On this website they often put up the current quality of water - at least once a week. In fairness it doesn't seem to fluctuate that much. However, they don't seem to have a level for the sulfates...

Pre boiling water to remove bicarbonates.

They have provided me with a water report but here we're given water from different centres so it fluctuates a lot.

Pre boiling water to remove bicarbonates.

http://braukaiser.com/blog/blog/2011/03/07/brewing-water-spreadheet-update/ The speadsheet calculates the other minerals apparently.

Pre boiling water to remove bicarbonates.

Any idea how much? I'm very new to water treatment and like a few others here, my water report can't be trusted as it comes from various sources. Hence the GH/KH kit.

Pre boiling water to remove bicarbonates.

Hi all, my water is pretty high on bicarbonates (300 ppm) and I like to brew IPAs. I read about pre boiling to remove bicarbonates which would reduce residual alkalinity. I tried last night and it's taken me from 140 residual alkalinity to 50. Although I'm quite happy with that, I'm a little...

Adding oak chips to a Black IPA

They're small chips - some the width of a matchstick I'd say. Yep, they're in a sealed bag.

Adding oak chips to a Black IPA

Hi all It's the first time I'll be doing this. The recipe recommends adding oak chips to the 2nd FV for two days. I have some pre-roasted chips that I purchased from a homebrew shop but I have no idea how to add them. In a hop sock weighed down with marbles? Should I soak them in starsan first...

    Auto siphon clamp falls off

Hi All! I've been racking straight from the FV recently and I'm finding that the clap frequently comes off the FV. I'm just worried that it might cause oxidation. It's also rather annoying! ANyone have any pearls of wisdom on the subject? Thanks a lot!

How are you guys conditioning at 12c?

Hi All I'm just wondering, do most of you guys have one fridge (with inkbird etc) for fermenting and cold crashing and another for conditioning at various temps?

Fluctuating mineral levels - water profile

I'd really like to avoid buying bottled water if I can. All that plastic! :)

Fluctuating mineral levels - water profile

Hi All I've finally received my full water profile and as expected it apparently comes from 3 'stations' or sources. Therefore it fluctuates quite a bit. So I guess my questions are: Is there any hope? Are we just concerned with adding gypsum or sodium in order to change the PH? Meaning, at the...

Which yeast for US IPA from these 3?

Hi all! Just realised that I've run out of Safale 05 and would like to retry a Punk IPA clone. I have Mangrove Jack's m36 liberty bell, Safale 04 and Lallemand Nottingham ale yeast. Would any of these be worth trying or shall I just go for a UK ale?
