    Brupaks?

OK folks, I'm going to try and get this baby on the go. I'm looking at the home-brew-supplies-uk website which has some yeast - Wyeast Activator™ 3944 Belgian White Beer Yeast - MFG Oct 2018 and some Curacao Bitter Orange peel - Cut 100g What sort of bag am I looking for? A 'straining', 'hop'...

    Bottle caps and sizes

I saved up a few Hoegaarden bottles, not realising the size difference. Will a standard capper like the one in the original post fit 29mm caps to these bottles? PS I've reused several Hobgoblin bottles and there doesn't seem to be any problem with the caps.

Recommendations for a dark beer kit

Hi all, my first attempt - a Wilko wheat beer has entered its final phase, that of getting drunk and has turned out respectably tasty. Next effort - I'd like to emulate a Hobgoblin or Old Peculier type - can anyone recommend any kit?

    Brupaks?

Lovely. I'll keep it and give it a go when I'm a bit more confident / proficient. Thanks for the advice!

    Brupaks?

Yes the extract is in a can which is why I was wondering whether the BBE date referred to the yeast etc. I shall give it a go at some point perhaps once we've left the EU and the Belgians can no longer get me.

    Brupaks?

I've come into an old 'Brupak' Belgian witbier kit which is a few years out of date (BBE Oct 2012). Before I bin it, is there any chance it would still be any good? I assume the yeast sachet is a goner. There's also a sachet of herbs etc.

Wilko wheat beer kit still fermenting

Oh well. I went with the bubbles rising meaning nothing and cracked on with bottling before reading the last post! So it's all done now. Note to self - large Hoegaarden bottles don't fit standard bottle tops.

Wilko wheat beer kit still fermenting

Thanks for the replies. If leaving it a few days longer does no harm then that answers an important question. Also, the instructions do not refer to using finings, would using finings be appropriate on a wheat beer?

Wilko wheat beer kit still fermenting

OK, I've got a hydrometer.. sorry if this sounds a daft question but opening up the lid to take a SG reading will open it up to any bacteria that may be floating around. Is that simply an unavoidable risk? Also I covered it over in a big fleecy top to help keep it warm so it's also been kept...

Wilko wheat beer kit still fermenting

Hi, I started my first batch 8 days ago - once I had achieved the onerous preparations of accumulating enough bottles! - and was expecting per the instructions to have got to the bottling stage by now. The first 24 hours were rather cold - around 15 deg C until I'd sorted the heat mat since when...

    Tadcaster calling

Probably like a lot of folk on here, I've started brewing after years of excuses not to, space being the main one. Anyway, my first batch - a cheap wheat beer kit from Wilko's - is sat in the corner of the kitchen gurgling away intermittently (should be ready for bottling around now). Anticipate...
