    Has anybody got a good red ipa recipe? I’ve got spare honey malt, Melanoidin malt and black malt. Got 100g of azacca too. I’ll need to get more ingredients obviously but I was hoping to use some of what i’ve Got in there too. Any ideas?

    Thanks for the advice guys. I’ve just had my first try of this and it’s incredible. I’m not sure if it’s the yeast or honey malt that made the difference (probably both) but it’s way better than the last version I made. acheers.

    I’ve got 100g each of Citra, Galaxy, Mosaic and Azacca. Was just intending to put a 1/3 of each in at flame out, then dry hopping a 1/3 each during fermentation, then dry hopping the rest for 3 days. Was originally only going to use Citra, mosaic, Azacca but then I found some galaxy to order...

    How many grams of hops would you tend to use in a 5 gallon batch? Would 300g do it? I’ve got 400g all together but that may be overdoing it?

    The EBC of the one I’ve got is 70. Think that’ll be too dark? I couldn’t find any honey malt last time I checked. Where are you getting in from? Also, do you know anywhere to get liquid yeast without paying a fortune for postage? I was probably just going to use S-04. Thanks

    Sounds about right. I think the only way to please Brexiteers will be a no deal Brexit anyway. I think the it’ll be bad for us economically but the whole thing is a mess and i can’t see a solution to it.

    How important is the type of yeast?

    I went with S-04. I started fermentation on Saturday and it went off like a rocket. Day 4 now and gravity is down to 1010 from 1055. Reckon it would be too early to bottle on day 8?

    I’m having my first go at AG brewing this weekend and I think i’ve got most things figured out (fingers crossed!). But I’m not sure whether I should be adding hops in hop bags so they can be removed or just loose so they stay in throughout fermentation as well? Any advice? Thanks

    It’s going to be like a NEIPA hopefully. I’ve ordered crossmyloof’s US Pale Ale yeast, hopefully that’ll be okay.
