Doom Bar / London Pride - premium brew kit?

Milestone Lion's Pride kit is a reasonable approximation of London Pride.

    Easy Beer Brew Kit Recommendations

19° is pretty much optimal temperature, so you'll be fine.

    Easy Beer Brew Kit Recommendations

Yes, I've stirred/ not stirred in the yeast and haven't noticed any difference. Keeping a constant temperature is much more important, the only failure brew I've had to date was last summer, when I didn't get the temperature down enough before pitching.

    B&M kits

Couldn't find these kits in the B&M in Washington this morning. Might as well have been talking to myself when I asked one of the staff if they had any in :laugh8:

    New Wilko kits

Sampled the Light Keeper Pale Ale this afternoon and initial thoughts on the results are a bit mixed. On the plus side, I've never had a brew clear so quickly and completely as this, even the first pint drawn off was clear enough to drink. Head retention is good. Unlike some, I like a pint to...

    New Wilko kits

Light Keeper kit going smoothly - two weeks in the FV (not as per instructions, but my usual practice) Added the hops after a week and this was the only problem I've had so far - hadn't read the BM kits thread where someone advised to not add hop pellets straight to the FV, so had to rack to...

    New Wilko kits

Yes, will keep you posted. I will be interested how your Cerveza goes - the only slight gripe I've had with this kit was that it is slightly lacking in flavour - fine for a cold refreshing pint in the recent hot weather, but not much character.

    New Wilko kits

Picked up the Lighthouse Keeper pale ale kit and a bag of dme from my local Wilko's yesterday. I've had nothing but good brews from their budget range of kits, so looking forward to trying this one.

    Kegerator advice please

Next step was marking out the holes for the bolts and at this step hit my only real problem of the day, the bolts supplied were hopelessly inadequate for the job so a trip to the local hardware suppliers was needed. Got the right length (60 mm) bolts and proceeded to fit the tower after...

    Kegerator advice please

Okay, since I last contributed I've sorted out the disconnect problem -(went for the easiest option of buying 1/4 inch barbed disconnects and they work fine). So today was D (drill) day. Started off with measuring where I wanted to put the tower, leaving plenty of room to (hopefully!) avoid...

    Kegerator advice please

Didn't. Need to sort out this beer line thing before I go any further.

    Kegerator advice please

No, the diameter of the beer line is too large to push into the connector

    Kegerator advice please

Problem is mine are threaded not barbed, so I presume need the adaptor to take the beer line, which is too wide in diameter to push in.

    Kegerator advice please

Right, I've set aside tomorrow as D (drill) Day, so have been assembling the parts for the tower and I've realised I've either bought the wrong fittings or need some type of barb attachment. The disconnects came with these fittings which I presume you just push the beer line in to connect. The...

    Kegerator advice please

I had a good look at doing this when I bought the fridge, but mine's different - there's no screws at the back holding the top on, just two under the front lip which are holding the thermostat gubbins in place. I think the top might prise off, but I'm a bit dubious of trying this, don't want to...

    Kegerator advice please

Still haven't drilled the top yet, been busy the last couple of days and working in a factory in this heat, I can't be arsed to do anything but lounge about when I get in! The CO2 I've been using up to now is a soda stream cylinder from Argos which works fine for a single corny, but now I've...

    Wilko's Own Brand Cerveza.

Half muntons light spraymalt (500g bag), half ordinary sugar works for me - I think it would get a bit pricey using the full 1kg of spraymalt. I'm currently halfway through my latest batch of Wilko Cerveza, just enjoying a pint in my back garden

    Kegerator advice please

Ha ha! Been too busy in the garden today, but think I'll have a go tomorrow. Wish me luck. And I'll unplug it before I drill owt, honest!

    Wilko's Own Brand Cerveza.

I've made this the same way half a dozen times in the last two years and it's never been less than a success. I have trouble getting my fermenting temperature under 22° in this weather, but it doesn't seem to be an issue. The first one I made with ordinary sugar and it was fine but lacking...

    Kegerator advice please

Thanks for the replies. If only the light was on the side, it'd be ideal, cos the fridge is the exact size for two cornies and is in excellent condition. When I bought it, I toyed with the idea of buying a matching freezer and using it as my main fridge as it's in better nick than my main one...
