Drinking my pressure barrel aged stout after being left for months?

Sorry if this sounds a stupid question with an obvious answer but I'm just not sure. But last Autumn I did my Irish Stout kit and put it in the plastic pressure barrel to age etc with the majority slowly drank over Xmas and new year with some drank late January noting it completely flat and no...

    Curry...!!

Might be a curry thread, but did a big batch of chilli the other day, had it 3 meals in a row & on man, did my bottom feel it!. Another 13 in the freezer for the coming weeks.

    Co2 serving pressure?

Not that I directly disagree with that as such, but surely (as I did) if you carbonate at a high pressure (25-30psi) then it's crazy to think that should therefore be your serving pressure? As that's not the carbonation level. As unless you've got a crazy length of line then only lower...

    So who's growing chillies 2020?

After some frustrating searching found the company I used last year, spices on the web. They already have some early plugs on sale, so might get some as soon as I've somewhere to put them. Clearly outdoors is no good for a couple of months yet, so might look for the cfl light and grow indoors...

Mrs Brown's Boys - the worst comedy ever made

Mind you, for the right or wrong reasons also loved "Till Death Is Do Part" & the follow up "In Sickness & In Health".

    So who's growing chillies 2020?

I can't for the sake of me recall the name of the company I used to buy early plugs the last 2 years!. Not world of chilli as they were a few weeks later than my preferred option, but annoying how I've lost who I use to buy my chilli plants!.

Mrs Brown's Boys - the worst comedy ever made

Only Fools & Horses all day long, though still a fondness for classic 80's comedy like Terry & June, Allo Allo, Hi-Di-Hi, etc.

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

More of my Beerworks Southern Gold Digger. Somewhat clearer in the pour now I have a steady serving pressure!.

    So who's growing chillies 2020?

Next, well this month now I'm starting to construct my er, well sheltered cover in the yard which will hopefully double up (also used as sheltered seating area) as an open greenhouse of sorts. Basically a wooden frame with a polycarbonate sheet roof. 2 sides are brick wall, the other 2 sides...

    Co2 serving pressure?

Another thing I noticed last night that seems to help froth levels & in all honesty I've not really noticed in the pubs with lager is holding the glass at an angle.

    Co2 serving pressure?

Thanks for the replies guys. The current brew in the keg being lager means it's heavily carbonated anyway so I only need just enough pressure to serve. And to be honest, as it got nearer to fully chilled in the fridge later last night it did start to serve quite a bit better. Though I'm...

    Co2 serving pressure?

Just wandering if the Co2 serving pressure is uniform (minus line thickness & length) regardless of ale type or ale type & desired carbonation dependent?. As pulling time is irrelevant to me, just don't want the froth and with a very short line even 9PSI is giving a little more froth than...

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

Some more of my BYO Yorkshire Bitter. Might follow that up with some Beerworks Southern Gold Digger.

Never brewed before but want to start brewing my own Strong Lager

Ahh, that's why nobody else suggested that then.

    going to keg

Yep, I bought my first 2 kegs last month and won't ever look back as bottling was a long drawn out process that is never a pleasure!. Of cause, I'll still do a little bottling with what left from each brew after transferring to the keg, but bottling for the best part is a thing of the past...

Never brewed before but want to start brewing my own Strong Lager

Hmm, maybe the op could simply use 2 kits to the same level of water, aught to give the desired results?, though not sure how that would affect the final flavour.

Beerworks President's Sierra American Pale Ale review

Well, I couldn't resist a quick peak just to see how it looks. And all, and I mean all, the hops are floating on the top like a thick carpet!. In some ways this will help remove the bulk at some point after fg has been reached, just scoop em out. I guess it makes sense to scoop out what I can...

Beerworks President's Sierra American Pale Ale review

Another 8 days in and fermentation is still going if slowing down the last day or so. Temps remain between 16-18° so the time is not an issue. I'll give it another 3 days I think & then take a reading, though when adding the hops 8 days ago it was already at 1020 & with a target 1010 I'll be...

Should everybody have a ID Card

You already require ID for so much these days so it's a non issue for me. Maybe even a digital ID on a mobile device (as near everyone carries a phone or tablet etc) that could have a barcode of sorts to scan that the "requestor" could verify the person's ID from? . For everyone else maybe a...

    Electric kettle or stock pot?

I've a 15 litre stock pot, and if worked right via grain usage can get anything from a 10l to about a 20l (maybe slightly more) brew in the fv after adding extra water in the fv. Yes it's time consuming, but I use the gas stove in the kitchen and have to get a happy balance between ability to...
