    Calling all Klarstein Owners.

Thank you Jonny I had the grain burning issu only when grain was milled to fine with to much flour. Recirculating helps keeping the flour in the grain bed.

    Calling all Klarstein Owners.

Hello folks In my opinion, klarstein products are good for the price ... I bought a klarstein beerfest, the « ancestor » of the maishfest and the other recent klarstein products, 3 years ago and use it at least for two brews per month. So far I had no major issues with the stuff. Electronics...

    What did you brew today?

Hello Folks ! Today, i’m brewing a simple stout, using my homemade HERMS « brewboard » No complicated electronics, just an inkbird temp’ prob to watch wort temperature and sparge water / Herms kettle temperature. Got to leave, wort is about to boil !!! Remi

    Will's Olde English Ale

If it tastes like it looks, then I think your first brew is a hit ! clapa Cold storage should make it more clear, but by the way, I think it’s already pretty clear. Cheers !:beer1:

    Hello from France !

Lol, may be not so accurate for some poetry, but for small talk, it will do the job hehe !

    Pilsner SMASH Mandarina Bavaria

I mean the fermentation temperature : safale S23 is a low fermentation yeast and therefor give a very neutral profil when you let it ferment at 12 deg C per exemple. But it works also at higher temperatures and « colors » the brew by adding some interresting fruity esters flavors. I have just...

    Pilsner SMASH Mandarina Bavaria

To be honest, I’m not a pro in beersmith, I either use (learn to use) Brewtarget. I think you’re right with the 50ibu range. The S23 yeast gives a real clean result when used in the lower temperature range. It lets the tangerine flavors shine through, as it produces very little quantities of...

    Hello from France !

Thx. I’m from the north east from France, région Alsace. 50km north from Strasbourg, a little village called Surbourg. The area/region is traditionally known for being the home of the Strisselspalt hop, where it is grown since 135 years (hops are grown in the region for over 200 years)

    Pilsner SMASH Mandarina Bavaria

I never tried to combine this hop with others, but I think it could be interesting. How do you use it ? In fact this batch is a real little tangerine bomb ! Really fresh and fruity profil that combines perfectly with the roundness of the Pilsner malt and finally a strong and crisp but non...

    Pilsner SMASH Mandarina Bavaria

Think it’s more in the range or above 40 ibu. (Estimated, I have to calculate it, I compare it to a similar brew I made with cascade hops @ 5,5% AA and reached a good 34 ibu.)

    Pilsner SMASH Mandarina Bavaria

Yes, I think we can tell it SMASH as long as we only use one type of hops and one type of malt in the recipe. Oats give good results, give it a try. I did this one many times, ît’s easy to brew and the result is always great. abigt

    Hello from France !

Hello everybody ! I'll try to keep it short. I've been brewing my beer for two years now : I started all grain brewing and biab with a klarstein beerfest. (modified her by adding some recirculation and a «grainfather like » grainbasket - didn’t have/want to spend - the bucks for a real GF)...
