    How many bottles?

My nearest village (Fyvie in Aberdeenshire) has a population, according to Google, of 499 people. I took the photo between Christmas and New Year. I must have missed a massive party. I was going to start a charity guess the number of bottles, £1 a go, but I don’t have enough spare hours in a...

    Wood burners

I only use about 3/4 of a single pallet strip, chopped into sticks to get the Woodburner going. These sticks are Jenga piled onto a couple of small logs. Like I said the blocks are saved as a last resort.

    Wood burners

I save the nails, and put them in batches in a bean tin in the recycling. I put the ash on the garden.

    Wood burners

For kinderling I cut up pallets with a circular saw. I put a small axe through the cut pieces. I save the corner blocks in banana boxes, which stack neatly, to at least 6 high, to be used as a last resort, when I’m out of logs. I don’t use the compressed blocks, nor the blue or red painted...

The downfall of the Tory party.

If you’re a cleaner for a holiday cottage, then most cottages change over on a Saturday between 10am and 4pm. Finding someone who is willing to work on a weekend comes at a premium. Finding someone who is good at this work, often makes them invaluable. Friend of mine had a holiday cottage...

Seems that Braverman is a serial offender with Security Docs to her private email. Question is, where do they go after that?

Wild yeast cider/scrumpy - can I reintroduce wild culture after camden tablet to bulk?

Have you ever weighed the post pressed material? I’m intrigued to see if this freeze thaw method yields more juice. I made a batch of cider from apples I had stored in boxes in the dark for 10 days. I got 27 litres of juice and ditched 23kg of pressed scrat. Assuming 1 litre of juice is 1...

    Why Doesn't Cider Go Off?

i‘m intrigued by the fact that you leave the scrat overnight. I read that this is how to make Perry, but that you shouldn’t do this with apples. The article didn’t give a reason, other than, pears release more juice, if you leave them to stand for 12 hours or more. Every time I’ve made Perry...

Adventures in Cider Brewing from a newbie ... a tale of mistakes and steep learning

Buy yourself a garden shredder. It will shred around 100kg of apples in an hour. I made the inlet at the top larger than the small slit. They are easy to disassemble to wash the moving parts in hot soapy water, then rinse in cold to get the soap off, then reassemble and mist the moving parts...

You could add disablement, bankruptcy and having to live on universal credit to the list.

The downfall of the Tory party.

i don’t think he will he will survive to the next general election, as I see the red wall Tory mps still think that Johnson is their saviour. However, I do think he will outlast the lettuce.

The downfall of the Tory party.

I’ve kept a keen eye on the listings to see if David Duguid had backed Boris. He’s the splinter ar$ed (Steve Baker) that I’ve got as a mp. I think the 102 number for backers is a face saving exercise. So it’s looking like Sunak and Steve Baker. As for Stanley Johnson, he should have had the...

The downfall of the Tory party.

I personally would love to see him get the 100 backers. Especially if they had b@ll@cks to put their name behind him in the public domain. If he gets to the final 2 against Sunak, then there is enough racists in the wider membership to make Johnson pm again. Thereafter the privileges...

The downfall of the Tory party.

It has been broadcast that Johnson hates losing, and won’t declare that he wants the job, until he is certain he has the minimum 100 backers.

The downfall of the Tory party.

Looking at the map I put up, then I think that Johnson, Sunak, Truss and May would also be out. I haven’t researched any others.
