    Wort Chiller Water

How does the maxi biab work? I thought with BIAB you used all of the water up front in the mash.

How to: Raspberry Pi HLT/Boiler Controller

Great! :thumb: I'm still thinking about my setup, but I think its going to be a thermopot with an element at the bottom, false bottom to keep the bag & grain off the element, and maybe a small pump re-circulating wort from the bottom of the pot to the top. (still at the idea stage!)

    The Craft Beer Co.

Been to their Islington pub a few times and love it. I find it has a better atmosphere and more room than their Clerkenwell & Britxon pubs. Great range of beers on. :thumb: One of my favorite pubs in London, but a bit out of the way for me. morethanworts are you thinking of Kill You...

How to: Raspberry Pi HLT/Boiler Controller

Looks great Robbo! :thumb: Any reason why I couldnt use this to control my mash and then boil in a BIAB setup? What sort of accuracy are you getting on temperatures and what sort of lag time in getting up to temp? I guess I want to make sure I can control my mash temps to a reasonable...

    Beer Engine

My Angram looked an absolute mess, so I completely stripped it down to give it a good clean. Can you see the glass cylinder? It might be covered by insulation/protection. If you can get a look at it you'll be able to see if its full of gunk or not.

    Milton to steralise?

Thanks for the reply Aleman, lots of really useful info. Fair enough about the last part too :thumb:

    Milton to steralise?

Interesting table very useful. :thumb: Miltons website says the following, but not sure how that would map across to Aleman's table. Whilst researching recently, I stumbled upon this Basic Brewing Radio podcast with the inventor of StarSan. He recommends the following: Using 5%...

    Milton to steralise?

Milton is diluted sodium hyperchrorite, so is just a weaker version of thin bleach, so it would probably be cheaper to buy supermarket value thin bleach. You can use it to sterilise, but you will need to rinse. I know that milton claims to be no-rinse, and from a safety point of view it...

    Partial boil

Hi all. I've been doing all grain full boil brewing for the last few years, so its been a long time since I've done a partial boil. This weekend I've got a friend coming over for a brew session, he's done kits before but is looking to step up, so we are going to be doing an extract + steeping...

The Leaning Stilton of Eccles take Three.

The latest batch is looking great Grays! :thumb: I'll post some pics of mine and info on my make up here when I get a chance. I'd also recommend that blog that you linked to, great to see all of the pictures of the stages of the make.

    is AG worth the expense?

remember you can always move up to doing extract brews without too much outlay. This will let you brew great beer whilst having control over your recipes.

Urgent: Does anyone have internal height of a fridge?

if you want to go under counter, then you'll need a larder fridge. I've got a hotpoint rla36, and found THIS thread to be very useful. The hotpoint larder fridges are good, as the shape of the compressor is a bit better to fit things around than other fridges. Not sure if it would be tall...

OMG - how bad is that let there be beer advert

That was unbelievable. Food and beer pairing with a pair of classic light lagers, Fosters and Bud. I can't believe it was actually serious, I was shouting at the TV!! I wonder how much they are paying Tim to spout this drivel.

Paul Hollywood - How to Bake

I've got a pizza stone, which is awesome. Great for pizza, and for bread. One of my favourite recipes at the moment is THIS ciabatta recipe. Great looking bread there grays. Will be good with your stilton :thumb:

    Tap handles

Hi guys. I'm slowly getting my kegerator up and running and have bought a couple of these c@rl*ng from fleabay. These look like great taps, apart from the handle off course, and there seem to be quite a few of them on ebay lately, so worth keeping a look out for. Is there anywhere in the UK...

    A liquid diet....with a difference

I think I saw the same as Pittsy. I can't remember the reasoning behind it. Listened to an interesting program on R4 a while back. The gist of it was the impact that a high sugar diet has on the body. The science suggests that insulin (which is released when you eat sugar), actually...

    Lots of kegerator questions

I've had a look Buster, and I don't have a drain hole. I've realised that I can get 3/16 beer line throuugh the seal OK. Would there be any issues with stepping down the gas line to 3/16 to go through the door? I'm guessing this will restrict the pressure somehow :? I can have a juggle...
