    Any other pipe smokers here?

What went wrong? It os hard to get started, especially if you don't have anyone to show you how to smoke nicely. I'm sure you could get it right with some help :).

    Any other pipe smokers here?

Dear me that's a shame. I try to keep other people in mind as much as I can when smoking, though I rarely smoke in public anyway. It's a shame that it's got a negative attachment for you, easily happens I suppose - I can't stand Rod Stewart or Nora Jones - it's all they ever played in the...

    Any other pipe smokers here?

Wez, St. Bruno is not an armomatic, and can be quite stifling for the non smoker I expect. I smoke aromatic's almost exclusively, as they are easier on the nose, girlfriend friendly, and do not require particularly frequent smoking to develop a good palate and enjoy their subtle flavours. That's...

    Any other pipe smokers here?

Oooh a narrow boat! I live right next to a canal marina, they looks so lovely :). I have a pretty standard briar, am 18th C style clay pipe and a nice big Gandalf style churchwarden hehe. It's actually my favourite, really nice cool smoke full of flavour. I bought it from a craft pipe maker...

    Any other pipe smokers here?

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone else here enjoys smoking pipes. Like brewing, it is a relatively new hobby for me but I enjoy immensely - in moderation of course. The two hobbies seem to sit very well together I think, and will certainly make for some very enjoyable evenings this...

    Champagne...How to make it?

Is the carbonation process the same as cider or beer? By priming the bottles? It's definately something I'd like to have a go at.

    Will my corks pop?

Yes I've been told to keep an eye out for those tesco bottles. It would be great to find a pub which could give me groslch bottles as they are ideal :). I just can't believe the amount of carbonation in this TC, it's crazy. Beginner's luck eh?

    Will my corks pop?

Yes there seems to be no point in buying empty bottles - I'll just be keeping all the ones I buy and re cap them :).

    Adding squash to TC

I'm just sterilising my equipment now before I start :). I need to buy a hydrometer, it's clear that they are absolutely essential. Cheers for the advice :).

    Adding squash to TC

I did buy one can of tinned berrys, I will mash them and strain them and put them in the initial brew. If the raspberry flavour needs more oomph at the end I ill do as you suggested :). Will.

    Adding squash to TC

Hey guys, I'm about to put another gallon of TC on today, the first was a great success. I was thinking of adding some raspberry squash to it to make it summery and girlfriend friendly ;). Should I add it to the initial mix? Or mix it in as part of the bottling process? Cheers, Will.

    Will my corks pop?

Well, the corks did pop. Or rather, I heard one pop and swiftly uncorked the other before the impending fizzy apocalypse! I'll have to get more suitable bottles. But as the cider tastes divine and is super fizzy I'll just get some mates over tonight and finish it all off hehe. So, lesson...

Just tasted my first batch of TC....

I used Evanvine's recipe in this thread.

    Will my corks pop?

Oh dear I hope that doesn't happen! I don't think they will be hugely fizzy though as I only primed with 1.3 tsp of sugar per bottle. I have found a cheap source of flip top beer bottles now so I'll be bottling into those now - I'll need the wine bottles for when my cab sav is ready :D!

My first wine is on the go

I'm fermenting at room temp, whatever that is - probably around 20 degrees ish. It seems to be going ok though, wine is a slower process as I have found out. Will.

My first wine is on the go

Hmmm it's been about 20 hours and it sin't bubbling as much as my TC did yet, is that normal? Looks nice though :). Will.

Just tasted my first batch of TC....

.........AWESOME!!! It's only a week old after I brewed it with a mate, we bottled it yesterday. However just now curiosity got the better of me and we poured a small amount just to taste. It was already wonderfully sweet, nicely carbonated and with none of the bitterness of most...

My first wine is on the go

Ah thankyou! Very informative! I will definately get hold of some then. I don't expect these first bews to be brilliant but they have been lots of fun to make and everyone who comes in and out of the house where we keep the DJ's during fermentation is very interested. Practice makes perfect I...

My first wine is on the go

I didn't use a campden tablet, what is it? I used tap water - I hope this isn't a cardinal sin :o! The kit was pretty cheap so even if it is a bust it's no great loss and all experience is good experience. Will.

My first wine is on the go

Hey guys, I bottled up my TC today, and once everything was cleaned I started work on a Young's Cabernet Sauvignon kit. It was dead easy to do following the instructions and I really hope it produces a nice wine. If it tastes good after a few weeks I will leave a few bottles to really mature...
