2 disasters and 2 great brews

Youngs Harvest pils.. yuk Lashings Ginger beer yuk I really didn't like either of these, the youngs was just nasty. The lashings, well I still have 17L to drink but it's not liked, it's not ginger enough because the hops drown the flavour. Woodfordes Bure gold started that on the 9th, kegged...

    Can opener

Apart from a Lashing's Ginger Beer I did not long ago, all the kits I get like Coopers and Woodfordes all come in cans. I can't find a decent can opener anywhere, every butterfly one I have purchased only opened the lid halfway before failing, electric ones can never grip the can correctly and...

    Filtration

I am planning on filtering an Ale through a 300 micron mesh filter when kegging Will that also remove all the yeast, IE will I have to force carbonate in the keg as opposed to a secondary ferment?

    My Fermzilla has landed

It arrived partially assembled, or so the instructions claimed. What that actually meant was the butterfly valve and seals were in place but not tightened. First thing I did was to take it all apart and generously lube evey seal with vaseline (IMHO the best and cheapest food grade lube) and put...

    Kegerator. ish..

To save me looking at dozens of websites and going to Curry's and measuring lots of fridges, can anyone suggest a make and model number of a small larder fridge that will hold 2 x Corny kegs? I will be converting it into a kegerator.

    Regulator

Me "I am looking for a mini regulator for a CO2 tank" Dealer "You can't use one of those on a CO2 Tank, you need at least this 2 gauge one at £60" Me "Why can't I use a mini one?" Dealer "The pressure will probably blow it apart" Me "You don't know much about physics then do you?" Dealer "What's...

    Expanding my home bar/brewery

Ordered a 2nd corny today, this time with a CO2 regulator for "pub gas" bottles. Also ordered a heat belt and a carbonation cap. The heat belt because my room is around 18c and the carbonation cap so friends can take a few bottles of my brews home. It was difficult to find pub gas suppliers...

    Coopers Mexican Cerveza

First thing I did with this kit was check how much sugar it needed, replaced that with brew enhancer then threw the instructions away. I mixed the ingredients, in the FV waited for temp to drop to 20c, pitched the yeast then left it alone. In every kit I have ever tried the instructions are...

    Coopers Mexican Cerveza

Sitting here drinking my home brewed Mexican Cerveza. It's still "young" as it's only been maturing for 11 days but it's carbonating up quite well. Chilled to 5c it goes down quite nicely.

Bottling carbonated beer from pressure barrel.

I don't have a beer fridge or a garage so I can't chill my beer, my "beer corner" is a pretty constant 21c, so I get to drink warm beer..yuk It's already fermented and in a pressure barrel and pressurised with c02 cartridges, what I want to do is draw off 5 or 6 bottles each week and stick them...
