    Secret Santa Reviews 2020!

Finally cracked my secret santa beer! Fig stout. Opend with a little hiss and poured with a nice deep coloured head, the stout itself darker than night. Carbonation is perfect 👌 just a little tickle on the tongue. This beer is beautiful, big, big mouth feel, sweet juicy fig first followed...

First hop addition in final 10 minutes. Really?

ive made this recipe from maltmiller and i can say it is cracking! imo the biscuit malt give it a more british IPA character as opposed to some of the crazy hop bomb IPAs out there but in saying that their was sufficient bitterness and lots of pine profile. Although i brewed mine over...

    Scotch Quail Eggs, coming up

its a bit late to add my tuppence but as a peeler of many a quail egg ive got a wee pro tip for you. allow the eggs to come to room temp then blanch in rapidly boiling water for 2mins and 10 seconds then pop them straight into distilled malt vinegar and leave for 1 hour. the acid eats away at...

    Klarstein mash kettle grain basket?

I like the look of those mesh baskets. Will need to pop them a message and see what the price would be. Im wary of using a bag in the kettle incase it scorches on the bottom.. although i suppose sone kind of standoff would make it work

    Coopers carbonation drops

A little off topic but would simpler sugars ie monosaccharides carb faster than diasaccharides? I see on alot of American recipies that they call for corn syrup for secondary fermentation which is a simpler than the sucrose we tend to use over here..
