    Weihenstephaner & Erdinger

I used to drink bucketfuls of Erdinger in the summer months if the right Pubs had it on draught. That Paulaner was just top notch though so I was a little dissapointed by the Erdinger that followed. It's still a delicious beer though and by two get one free is indeed something to be snapped up.

    Weihenstephaner & Erdinger

Pretty good though ended up having more than a quick sample in each place. About 2-3 pubs I would go in again and the rest I can see closing up within the next few months as they are truly dire. The nearest Pub to my house has Copper Dragon's Golden Pippin and Timothy Taylor's landlord on at the...

    Weihenstephaner & Erdinger

Konig Ludwig and the Paulaner I got from a wine merchants in my town who has a small but impressive foreign beer section. Thwaites imports the Konig Ludwig and it can be found in a fair few of their pubs in bottle or draught. The draught version I had today was excellent also.

    Weihenstephaner & Erdinger

I've been revisiting Wheat Beers lately and after chasing up a Paulaner Weißbier Naturtrüb with an Erdinger Weißbier I found it wanting in comparison. Next on the list is a König Ludwig Weißbier and then on to the local who have it on draught. In fact today promises to be a day of beer...

    Death of burco boiler element

£20 for the 10gallon bucket, £8 for twin elements. I don't use a thermostat and don't really see the need for them unless in an old school electrim mashing and boiling bin which I don't rate anyway. I get a good strong rolling boil off one element but use two to bring it up to boil faster...

    Death of burco boiler element

Ah well I'm more concerned with volume and product quality than Shiny appearance. I'd be using a 10gallon plastic bucket if I hadn't been given a Stainless Steel keg. I can't see the attraction of Burco's really unless you pick them up cheaply, for £21 you could've got a 10gallon bucket and...

    Football Banter

Got my pizza dough ready for this evening, mates and brothers coming around, homebrew on tap via the flash chiller in the front room*...bring it on Barca! *Temporary arrangement! My understanding partner has let me move my chiller and kegs into the front room so we can grab beers without...

    Death of burco boiler element

I ditched my 27 litre Burco, literally, because the elements are such a chore (expensive too) to replace and went plastic bucket then keg boiler route using cheapo kettle elements. They've made a good number of brews now and still on my first two!

Threats of Legal action against the forum

I can well imagine Easybrew would still be trading today if their swindling and bumbling had not been aired on public forums. Imagine not being told they were completely incompetent and getting your money back for items never received was like getting blood from a stone. They'd be rolling in...

Threats of Legal action against the forum

It's a shame some online retailers are afraid of healthy criticism which will inevitably improve the service they offer to homebrewers if heeded. It is also a shame that they feel they can intimidate non-profit Internet forums with unsubstantiated claims to pursue legal action. Perhaps it's best...

    Whats everyone drinking?

Red Grapefruit wine and preparing for the Premier League relegation saga to unfold. Opened this in error as I thought I was grabbing something else for a friend of mine over from France. He's drinking that and I'm drinking this very young wine over crushed ice with lime and tonic.

    Beerline cleaners

Any beer line cleaner will do you. Most need diluting but they'll provide instructions on use eg: how long to soak the different strength concentrations. Tip for cleaning out the chiller lines I devised was to blast them through with co2 if they're full of ****. Mine had not been cleaned in a...

    I've just found out!!!!

Oi I had a boy! Congrats Bobo...I was told we didn't want to know what we were having. I actually did want to know just because I was curious but it was definitely a beautiful surprise when we found out the old fashioned way.

    Another Sanitising Question...Flash Chillers

Now that my lines are completely free of **** I actually find I can run them through with siphoning as follows... Demijohn/other vessel of line cleaning solution placed at a level above the chiller Remove your beer line from the black Disconnect and dip line into the demijohn/other vessel Get...

    Cornelius and Flash Chiller.

I was getting annoyed with holding my tap with both hands as I hadn't managed/been bothered to source a back nut to fix it to the Cornelius handle yet. I was clearing out a drawer today and found a hozelok fitting and it all clicked into place. Here's what it looks like now and it's solid as a...

Yes now they actually have the book it's business as usual as far as good delivery is concerned from Amazon.

    LME or DME???

LME is cheaper and supposedly of better quality given that there is less process involved to make it than the further drying out that takes place with DME. However, depending on it's age LME can give a tinny twangy taste the beers reminiscent of some Kit Beers that seem have sat too long on the...
