PC Security - Hacked Bank :(

So it seems I picked up a nasty on my computer despite being very careful and running AV. Luckily they didn't get anything from my Bank account (though I'm pretty unimpressed by Halifax's security) but I'm feeling a bit scared of using my browsers now. The bank seem to think I had some kind of...

AG#11 Dizzy Izzy - Look ok?

This is my third attempt at my own recipe, think starting to get the hang of it but always good to have someone more experienced check it over! I'll be brewing this on Sunday with a couple of friends who want to see how it's done. Any comments greatly appreciated! Dizzy Izzy - named after my 2...

    Not the best Brew Day

Today I'd planned to do a bit of a different brew to what I've done before, a NZ Jade Ale which uses Pacific Jade Hops and then Marris Otter, Munich, Biscuit and wheat malts. I've not really done anything with the range of malts before and first time with the hops. recipe I was following below...

Brewery Yeast, what to do with it

A friend very kindly got me a jam jar full of nice fresh yeast from Palmers Brewery in Dorset. Apparantly the head brewer said it was enough for a 1bbl brew so obviously have far too much. What should I do about storing it? it's currently in the fridge, should I make a starter with it or just...

    Brewery Tours

Thought there might be some interest here in a little pet project I've been working on for the last couple of months... For some reason I decided to map all the brewery tours that were available in the UK with details such as when they run and how much they cost. There's a total of 134...

    Fermentation Fridge Build

Well I finally managed to pick up a fridge for a reasonable price, £20 via preloved rather than the £40+ they go for on ebay round here. Bit of a novice at electronics but this turned out to be easier than i thought it would be thanks to guides on here and a youtube vid. Most time consuming...

    Windows 7 or 8?

My boss has agreed to buy me a shiny new computer as my current one is starting to struggle. Got it all specced up and that's fine, only thing I'm not sure of is whether to go Windows 8 or stick with what I know works with Windows 7. Any help on which way to go would be much appreciated. Will...

Pudding Stone - How does this look?

    Late dry hopping

Just realised I somehow completely missed the flameout hop addition on my summer lightening last week. Would dry hopping for a couple of days before bottling help to make up for the omission?

    New Brewpot Brewday

Yesterday I did my first brew with my new 50L brewpot that I recently got from the Malt Miller. Having a nice big pot with a tap made everything so much easier and cleaner, hardly any spilt at all! Did a Golden Cascade which was the recipe I did for my first AG Golden Cascade (English IPA)...

    Hazy Beer

I moved my first AG bottles from the airing cupboard, where they'd been for a week or so, to the cool outhouse yesterday. When I moved them they had cleared nicely but this morning on checking them they have gone very cloudy again. Is this a potential problem or possibly just from a very cold night?

    Confession

Last night I drank 3 pints of F*sters, for this I'm truly sorry! In my defence it was either that or McMullen AK

    Preparing for BIAB AG

I've just put a Wherry kit on after which I'm hoping to give an AG brew a go. I've been reading up on BIAB and Maxi BIAB methods which looks like the best way for me to give it a go before investing in lots of shiny things . I'm intending to use the mash brew bargain pack from brewstore for my...
