KMeta and KSorbate Alternatives in Europe?

I already keep campden tablets on hand for my brew water, so I won't buy the powder if it doesn't make a difference. Thanks for the tips!

KMeta and KSorbate Alternatives in Europe?

Cool! How many do you suppose I'll need for 30 liters of mead must?

KMeta and KSorbate Alternatives in Europe?

I'm not following you. Are you saying that Campden is sodium metabisulphate, and that Campden is a good substitute for Kmeta?

Anyone here getting grassy notes from their 2013 Amarillo?

I just sniffed my 2012 and 2013 Amarillo side-by-side and I got a bit of garlic in the 2013. I'm not sure about grass. I used the 2013 for kettle hops and the 2012 for dry hopping. We will see how this turns out.

KMeta and KSorbate Alternatives in Europe?

I'm about to make my first mead, and I'm looking for some stabilizers. Everything I read online seems to suggest KMeta and Ksorbate. The Kmeta is potassium metabisulfite, which is used to protect the wine from spoilage by bacteria. The Ksorbate is potassium sorbate, which is added to wine to...

Anyone here getting grassy notes from their 2013 Amarillo?

I've been reading some murmuring about this for the past couple of months. Have any of you had bad batches? I have a bunch of it in the freezer right now, and I was planning to do an all-amarillo American wheat, but now I'm not sure. I'll open it up on brew day and see what I think of the...

    Fermaid K and GoFerm

I wrote to Mel over at Hop & Grape, and she says that she is willing to stock the stuff for us if we really want it.

    Which mill to upgrade to?

Ok, so I was using CaraAmber to test out the mill because I had a huge a huge surplus of the stuff. I tried out maris otter after that it it milled a lot better. I suppose it was silly of me to expect nicely dehusked grains from such a highly modified malt. I'm not quite sure I'm getting the...

    Which mill to upgrade to?

Ok, so I can't figure out what the hell is wrong with my set up. I'm using the base which came with the mill, so I don't have the walls too close to the rollers, but it takes a lot of power to get going and then it goes too fast and I get husk damage. The grain kind of shoots out the side too. I...

    Which mill to upgrade to?

Got my crankandstein 3d in the mail and I'm finding that setting it up isn't as easy as just putting all the screws in. I tested it out with the factory settings, and I think the gap must be a bit thin because it takes some power to get the thing started and then it throws milled grain...

    Fermaid K and GoFerm

If it's just go-ferm, I'm not really interested. It wouldn't be worth the shipping to austria. I'd like to find a place that can ship that, yeasts, dap and fermaid all in one go.

    Negative opinion of WoW?

I used a champagne yeast, so I suppose it's possible that it gassed off too much of the flavor. Mine all fermented out super dry, so I had to back sweeten them.

    Negative opinion of WoW?

Do any of you dislike Wurzel's Orange Wine? People here seem to be crazy about it, but I haven't really been impressed. I made six different versions of it using six different fruits and I can't say that I love the stuff as much as most of you seem to. I followed all of the tips to a T, so don't...

    Fermaid K and GoFerm

And actually I'm more interested in Fermaid O, go-ferm, and DAP. They say that Fermaid O is better than K because it provides for a cooler fermentation with fewer temperature fluctuations.
