    RokDok's brick oven

Takes four to lift the top section- the oak sleepers weren't cheap, you can though get slightly smaller ones form Dorset timber which start at about £20 for a short one. RD

Pair jailed over abusive tweets to feminist campaigner

It's amazing the depths to which people will sink if they think that they are not going to get caught.

Do you return your own glass?

Always, and I've taught my (teenage) kids to as well. This includes the local Wetherspoons, I think it's courteous and respectful. RD

    Secret Santa 2013

Happy New Year Everyone. My beer didn't have a code on it, but it was a Weissbeer brewed by Brian from Newcastle. Appropriately it was in a Newcastle Brown bottle and nicely labelled. Easy pouring with a good head and a crystal clear pale straw colour. Zingy mouthfeel, like a myriad of...

    Bread baking

Couldn't bear to throw away the yeast and trub from a recent London Pride clone, so used it to make some bread and rolls last night. Any one else use the yeast from the FV to bake with ?? RD

Truly a labour of love. Please post back once the tastings have been done. I did something similar last year using 6 different yeasts ( your record is still well safe ), the difference in flavours was really surprising.RD

When does a CASK beer become a KEG beer?

You've made the point more concisely than me BB, and I do take the points above about the blanket. RD

When does a CASK beer become a KEG beer?

Good afternoon. Interesting debate. I was just going to put my flak jacket on but I think one of those 'Hurt Locker' bomb disposal outfits might be more appropriate. Firstly what I share with all of you is an appreciation of good beer. This is where I have to duck for cover. I've been a CAMRA...

    Best bar snack

Our pub puts the left over roast potatoes on the bar after Sunday lunch, lovely with salt and a pint.

Not the news I wanted to hear...

Dennis, I clearly don't know what your exact problem is, but the orthotics will be to allow weight to be borne on a different part of the foot. Try a pair of either Rocker soles or MBT ( Masai Barefoot Technology) - I know people who swear by them, they redistribute the weight away from the heel...

At What Point Does It Become An Obsession

It becomes an obsession as soon as you taste your first brew. It's a one way street after that. Got home from work tonight and the first thing I did was to check the Krausen on some beer I'm brewing for Xmas.
