    Tom Caxton Real Ale Review

This was one of the first kits I ever brewed a few years back and I remember it turning out to be very drinkable. I always intended to brew another one of these but wanted to try all the other main kits first including 3 wherry's! I am looking forward to brewing this and seeing if it's as good...

Hi I've just finished brewing my second wherry and after weeks in bottles it's a really nice brew> however i prefer my ales to be 4.5% + but can't seem to get my wherry any strong than 4.0. Would be grateful for any advice on how to get a bit more kick into my next brew - i suppose i could...

    tap water

Do people generally just use tap water when brewing or is it worth while using bottled spring water to get a better end result? I purchased a water purifier at the weekend and used it on my latest wherry. will be very interested to see if it makes much of a difference. I must admit that plain...

    corks vs caps?

I've never had a problem with wine bottled to be honest. I've always used them and only had a issue when left them in the shed on a hot summers day! This was with a screw top wine bottle where the corks popped out quite easily but never had a problem with a traditional wine bottle. I might try...

    frozen beer during clearing

Hi, I made the mistake of leaving my bottled beer outside on Friday evening and some of the bottles froze over night. I bottled the beer 2 weeks ago after 3 weeks of fermenting. Do you think the fact that my beer froze will have any affect on the end result? Thanks Ian
