pimping a kit to make a NEIPA

Well done for posting your results. Glad it went well. Nice to see how things turn out after people ask for advice. I'm giving the YouTube video recipe mentioned above a go over Xmas. First time moving away from standard kits 🤞

Saaz hops in Coopers Canadian Blonde

Nice one, thanks. I find the Canadian Blonde a little lagerish anyway hence the choice of Saaz hops. Thanks for the advice, will hold off adding for now.

Saaz hops in Coopers Canadian Blonde

Hello all I've got 23 litres of Coopers Canadian Blonde thats been fermenting for about 6 days now. SG was 1.039 and is now down to 1.012. It normally bottoms out at 1.009 for me. I'd like to experiment with it a little and have got some Saaz pellets (Alpha 3.2%) but am unsure how and when to...

Bottle cold or warm after cold crashing?

Hello all I've just cold crashed an MJ Pils in my fridge and plan to bottle it over the next day few days. I'll prime in the bottle using carb drops. Should I bottle cold straight out the fridge or let it reach room temperature before bottling? I plan to use the same '2 Coopers carb drops...

    OK, thanks guys

    Blow-off setup ok?

Thanks. Inbetween your posts I'd just added a little suresan and reduced the level of water to about 3cm. Still bubbling away nicely 😊

    Blow-off setup ok?

Thanks. That makes sense. I've also just realised that the liquid in the bottle is just water from the hot tap. I think it should've been something a little more sanitised. Should I add some suresan to it or replace with booked water?

    Blow-off setup ok?

Hello all I've just moved from an FV in a tub of water with an aquarium heater to a fridge with a tube heater. I kicked off a brew yesterday but as there was not enough space above the FV in the fridge to accommodate the usual airlock I use, I read up and opted for a blow-off tube instead...

    Induction hob alternatives to Buffalo

Hello all I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to the Buffalo 3kw induction hob. I'm looking to halve the all grain ingredients I have that yields 23 litres, so I get 2 x 11/12 litre brews. I guess I'll need maybe a 30 litre kettle? Any recommendations for a cheap hob? I've seen a Tefal...

Leffe clone all grain recipe instructions

Hello all! I've purchased the below all grain recipe but am having difficulty understanding the instructions as this is my first all grain attempt. https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product/belgian-blonde-leffe-clone/ Firstly, I've only got equipment to satisfy no boil recipe kits so appreciate...

    Random carbonation

So neither the flat or fizzy ones taste particularly sweet. The bottles are only on their second use so I'd be surprised if the seals have perished. I'll see how I go on the rest of the bottles but maybe it's time to try a teaspoon and a funnel for next time.

    Random carbonation

    2 weeks. Opened 6 bottles. 4 fizzy, 2 flat.

    Random carbonation

Hi Steve Yep, boiled it with a small amount of water. It had all dissolved before I put it in the bin and added the brew. Cheers

    Random carbonation

Hello all I've just cracked open some of my most recent brew. 40 pints of Coopers kit with DME which I primed with 170g of table sugar. Some bottles are opening like champers and have a great fizz. Others are flat. What's going on? I primed in a bin and mixed well before bottling and have...

Table sugar equivalent of Coopers carb drops

    Thanks for the advice 👍

Table sugar equivalent of Coopers carb drops

Thanks. So what is wrong with my theory as I had no issues with 2 drops in a 500ml bottle. Is it that the drops are not sucrose and in fact a glucose/sucrose mix?

Table sugar equivalent of Coopers carb drops

Thanks. No sadly not, they just specify the number of drops

Table sugar equivalent of Coopers carb drops

Hello all I can't seem to find a straight answer to this one so thought I'd come and ask the experts. 🙂 For my first ever brew I used a Coopers Canadian Blonde kit and primed with Coopers carb drops. I used a mixture of 1.5 drops and 2 drops per 500ml flip top bottle. I much preferred the...

    Low OG. What's wrong?

Yeah, I've got one of those. It worked great when mixing the wort. I just need to remember to use it when mixing in the top up ☺
