    Greg Hughes ESB

Think I need to be more experimental with yeasts. Always seem to fall back on the same ones.

    Greg Hughes ESB

Decided to make the ESB recipe from his book today. The only difference is I have swapped the yeast for S-04 as per his yeast chart. Hit the numbers but had to top up to 23l so added a bit of dextrose to readjust.

    Wilko hop & cheer IPA

Brewed this with just a kilo of dextrose. Was a bit rough at first but conditioned into an exceptable pint.

    Peco boiler.

There seems to be alot of complicated ways to clean an element. I personally am a bit lazy, so I just cover it with warm water whilst it is still in place and clean it with my bottle brush. Comes up a treat. (just have to do it straight away so it's not like concrete).

How to filter the my homebrew?

My Brews always drop clear. For Ag I use a protofloc tablet and for kits there's no need for any help just 2+2+2 timing. The only filter I use slot is my liver

    Recipe interpretation question

27L is pre-boil volume, the extract recipes just miss out the mash stage. It will boil down to approx 23L.

BIAB Starter Kit (Peco Boiler, Chiller, Mashing bag, Mash Kit)

I would also pick up the copper hop strainer. It will be needed.

BIAB Starter Kit (Peco Boiler, Chiller, Mashing bag, Mash Kit)

Got this last year. I made a mash tun but use this as a HLT and boiler. Been in use twice a month works a treat.

    Peco boiler

I bought the biab starter kit but made a mash tun from a coolbox to go with it. The peco boiler works great as a hlt and for the boil. I boil 27L and have not had a problem yet. Just remember to buy the hop filter with it.

    wort chillers

I use an immersion chiller and find if you wobble it about a bit when its on, it cools in no time. Plus I steralise it in the last 15mins of my boil, which makes the brewday go a bit easier.
