    Hi everyone

Well, I've not posted for a while (I've been here reading!) so I thought I'd just say hi and also ask some advice. My family and I was out last year in Buxton sat in a park with a good friend of mine with his family (he's the head brewer of a micro in Manchester) enjoying the sunshine and...

    PECO kettle

Hi guys, Does anyone use one of these boilers at all? I seem to have a problem with mine. The control unit keeps saying SP when I press P to change the temp. It will not do anything but display SP?

It's a funny thing this yeast.

I've had a lager in the brew fridge for around eight weeks now and it's still bubbling away quite happily.. at 4c?? :wha: I thought lowering the temperature would have made the yeast dormant. I wish it'd hurry up though as I'm quite thirsty!

    Just my luck

I cleaned my brew fridge as I'm just about to put my lager in there. Tested my stc 1000 and it's showing a HH error. I can't for the life of me, get it cleared. Looks like a new stc unless anyone can tell me how to sort it out? Cheers! Glyn.

    I have a dilemma

Tomorrow is going to be a brew day but yet again I have reached an indecisive moment. I've got just the one corny spare at the moment as I've lent another to a friend so.. 1. I want to brew another boddies mild clone, with hop additions, in memory of my dad. I'm off home to Swansea this...

    Gypsum and Lagers

Hi, Just wondering if any lager brewers have experimented and hardened their water or used hard water in a lager with good results. Does it make a difference and if so, in what way?

I'm not feeling the love here..

I done a pattersbier a good few months ago and I didn't like it so I decided to leave it to gather dust like you do. Me thinking it'd mature and be spiffing but hey ho.. I done a bottle of the new guinnnes golden and it tastes the same. There's just that something that tastes at the higher to...

    Lagering

Hi, Am I right in assuming that crashing a lager down to 2c will make the yeast go dormant or possibly die?

    Armadillo hops

Hi, has anyone come across the armadillo hop variety? I was just about to order some from the states but the P&P was dearer than the hops! Can't seem to find them in the UK as I'd certainly give them a go http://www.yakimavalleyhops.com/ArmadilloLeaf16oz_p/hopsleafexparmadillo1-2015crop.htm

    water ajustments

Well, I'm glad to say that I never stop learning and I'm finding out more and more things everyday whilst sat here thinking about what I'm going to brew next or how I can improve. I understood that Gypsum made water a little harder which is needed for a good IPA. Chuck a spoonfull in the...

    Man.. Am I narked off!

So, I done a plain ol' pale ale on saturday in the grainy. At the brewshop I asked for English Ale WLP005 but they was out of stock (As were most of the leaf hops I needed, ended up with pellets and a different variety). I thought about getting dried yeast but the guy said I have a liquid burton...
