How many litres of home brew have you made 2023.

This year I’ve been off the boil (back issues) just started my second batch the other day so I’m up to around 40L. That being said I’ve already ordered my grain for the next two batches

    Vanilla Pods

Hello So I’m planning on making a stout next weekend and I want to add vanilla to it. I’m just wondering what you lot do when using vanilla pods or extract. The last time I used extract and I didn’t get very much vanilla coming through. If you were using or have used vanilla what was your...

    pressure fermenting S05

I done a IPA last year using S05. The temperature was 21.5 with a psi of 11. Must say it came out really well. It had finished fermenting within 3 days

    What did you brew today?

Well today was my first time brewing in over a year. (Back problems 🙄) I done a simply lager with Saaz and used lutra yeast. This was the stuff I had in the freezer. It would appear this has spurred me on to start brewing more, I’m currently in the process of doing a build for a DIPA. 👍

    Tonka Beans

Thank you Brewnaldo this has been helpful. Do you just add the beans or the alcohol the beans were sitting in ?

How many litres of home brew have you made 2022.

I honestly can’t remember what I done last year and the year before. This year I’ve concentrated more on AG and I’m up to 132L with a new batch going on at the end of the month. 🍻

    Tonka Beans

Hi 👋 I was looking for some advice please. I’m going to make a stout and I’m looking at adding whisky soaked Tonka beans for 5 days towards the end of fermentation. I’ve never used Tonka beans before so don’t know how to go about this. I’m looking at making 22L of stout in a pressure...

    First Stout Question

I honestly don’t know. It be fair it’s only the second one I’ve done that says to add sugar. I thought it was something to do with the yeast / sugar consumption. It is a high ABV around 11% but I thought it would all be one type of sugar. If I ever find out I will let you know. Thanks for the reply

    First Stout Question

Hi I was wondering if you lot can help me out. I’m relatively new to AG brewing, I’ve only done about 6 or 7 AG kits last year. I set myself a challenge this year to make a good Belgian stout. I’ve found the recipe I want to follow and I have most of the ingredients. I’ve only just noticed...

    Cider Kit Error

Hi Everyone, Just a little up date. So I checked the cider this morning it it has reached the FG. I’ve given it a little taste and it seem great. I’ve just added the fruit flavouring and I’ve started the cold crash. This will be getting forced carbonated in the next 24hrs. Thanks again for the...

    Cider Kit Error

Hello Shirley, Thank you for the very kind offer. But it’s not needed. It was a B2B kit, I just picked up the first packet that I seen and didn’t bother looking at it. I will see how it comes out and will take it from there. I was more worried about any off flavours. Thanks again. Ps, I’m...

    Cider Kit Error

Thanks for the speedy reply Chippy_Tea. Me thoughts were that the yeast may eat the sweetener but I was more concerned about any off flavours it may cause. It’s a good idea contacting the manufacturer, but I have loads of sweetener here. Thanks for the heads up 👍

    Cider Kit Error

Evening people. So I thought I would buy a cider kit and get the cider ready for the hotter weather. When making the cider kit I noticed I added the sweetener instead of the yeast. I then went back and added the yeast. With the sweetener being added early is likely to a mess up me cider ...

    First Brew

Coopers kits are good. Nice and very little mess. I just done a coopers lager in October and it took a little longer to finish fermenting. I put that down to the house being a little bit cooler.

    DME Brewing

Hello, I used to have a pinter and I had the same issue with all 9 brews thatI done. I changed the yeast and I got a little better FG however it still wasn’t great. As an experiment I used two Pinter press and put it into a normal fermenter and changed the yeast. I was then able to control the...
