Closed Transfer From Bucket to Corny Keg

Great set up! Can you share more on the bladder please as this is an upgrade to my almost closed transfer. Thanks Mike

    Domed false bottom vs bazooka

Thanks Clint, so the wider surface area of the manifold did increase efficiency. Do you batch or fly sparge? Not sure I could manage to make one myself!

    Domed false bottom vs bazooka

Any advice please? I use a 10 gallon yellow igloo cooler with a bazooka tube for my mash tun and I batch sparge. I’m considering changing from a bazooka to a domed false bottom. Whilst I’m not strung out on efficiency, I reckon I could get higher then my current 68-70%. Welcome any experience...

    Greg Hughes recipes

Hey Clint, my GH YB turned out closer to say John Smiths. It all got drunk but often was like a day out at York races! Perhaps was was thinking/expecting it was more a landlord. Perhaps it all went wrong! Interested to hear how you would compare yours? Cheers Mike

    First Stout AG brew

Great name - may give it a go after this one.

    First Stout AG brew

Great thanks Clint, I’m hoping so. Patience on this one. Fortunately, my 2 kegs have reproduced so brewing can continue in number 3!

    First Stout AG brew

I did the GH coffee stout recipe a couple of weeks ago, gonna keg today. I used a liquid Irish yeast, without a starter, which failed to ferment(doh!). After 4 days I pitched a dry yeast. It’s now a few points off target at 1019. All previous brews (hoppy ales, wheat beers) where practically...

    Corny kegging (beginner)

Same, same albeit 3m of 3/16. It does pour slow but works for me across beers at maybe 5c. Pressure set at maybe 14 or more like between 10 and 20. There’s lots of science on the subject.....

    American Wheat

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

The GH American Wheat. Kegged Sunday - ‘‘tis good...

    American Wheat

There’s lots of hop action in there - assume it’s delicious? This is mine. The GH version. Very little hops, Wyeast 1010 American yeast. Tastes good, not overly clovey, banana - more refreshing I’d say. Kegged on Sunday.

Help picking out a Beginner Kit

I’ve done and consumed the Young’s AIPA during lockdown. It was my first brew in after years away. No wastage - it was great. Lots of hops in the kit. Buy cheap, buy twice..... Hope it goes well whatever you decide.

No cold crash in the FV

Give me a chilled/cold beer any day, ideally, everyday! My chilled NEIPA in the kegerator is tasting great. Next in will be a raspberry wheat beer - bring back the summer! PS I’ve got the kegs on an inkbird set to 6c, cause that’s how I like it....

    What did you brew today?

Great thanks. I’ve read about the mesh bags - they seem like a popular way to add. I reckon I’ll do similar, using thawed frozen berries in a mesh bag. Your temp of 39c sounds exciting! Checked mine this morning - it’s at 24c, with the jimmy’ed blow off tube working a treat. First time I...

    What did you brew today?

Excellent, it should be good for the return of summer! How did you add you raspberries?

    What did you brew today?

Interesting read. I’ve got the GH raspberry wheat beer in the FV today. Grain bill was just lager malt and wheat malt. It’s billed as a Belgium style wheat beer. I went with the recipe as a baseline as noted the simple grain bill. Albeit with a white labs Hefeweizen yeast, due to stocks of...

    Hot weather and 18oC target

Wow, great ingenuity there! Today I bagged a £10 fridge off Facebook. I’ve already ripped off the plastics need to fit my FV. Plan is to install a heat lamp and with my ink bird I reckon I’ll be sorted. Really appreciate the response.

    Neipa oxidisation

Excellent, thanks for that. I’m gonna do the same with the campden and transfer. Cheers Pennine

    Neipa oxidisation

Hey Pennine, I’m gonna use campden to help with the same in a (corny) keg. Can I ask please, how did you transfer it? Syphon from a FV bucket or another? (Closed, semi closed, etc etc) thanks Mike
