    Brewfather and water additions

I've heard of a few interesting forums on Facebook, not on it though.

    Brewfather and water additions

Thanks for the quick reply. I've used both CRS and Lactic in previous brews in the way you suggested said, and depending on the style which one to use. I must be doing something wrong on Brewfather, when I add Lactic to the mash it doesn't alter the profile, but does lower the PH. The auto...

    Brewfather and water additions

I've been having a play with the Brewerfathers water calculator. I'm using 75% RO water and 25% tap water. The tap water has been tested for calcium and alkalinity and I got the rest of the information from my online water report. I want to brew a David Heath Kolsch recipe, so I entered his...

Ok, just re entered the recipe in to Brewfather and I've got 33 IBU. Sounds a bit better.

    Frank as Apollo premium bitter

I put the recipe in to Brewfather and got 55 IBU, which I thought was high for the style of beer. The kit gets good reviews, so maybe I'm unduly worrying. Just thought I'd get a bit of forum feedback.

    Frank as Apollo premium bitter

Hop schedule for this kit is 100g Golding hops at start of boil for 70 mins, 50g Syrian at flame out and 50g dry hop. Just a but worried the 100g at at the start may be a bit much. The kit does get good reviews. What do you think?

    Unpredictable efficiency on all-in-one system

Do you fellas who are using 3lt per Kg strike water, also add an extra 3-4tl for the dead space? That what I use and Brewfather figures are pretty much the same.

    CAMRA Kew - Botanic

Makes 20L of beer according to the blurb so I worked my figures on 21 in the fermenter which fitted in with the beers 3.8% abv. My efficiency settings are set quite low in Brewfather so I wasn't entirely surprised with the 1.044 og. I do think my hydrometer reads a point or two high though, so...

    CAMRA Kew - Botanic

Not been brewing too long myself so definitely not a expert. Don't worry about the the berries, the supplied ones were dried. I will dry hop in the primary and keg about five days later. I've never dry hopped in the keg, I intend to try it sometime. Not sure how I ended up with such a high og. I...

    CAMRA Kew - Botanic

Coincidentally I brewed this yesterday. There wasn't much detail regards the Juniper berries, they supplied 50g but only 20g needed according to the recipe. I added 10g at flameout once cooled to 80°c and left it for 20mins. The other 10g should be soaked in Vodka and added with the dry hops...

    Brewzilla Robobrew question

20L for 7kg of grain seems low. I also use Brewfather and it usually indicates 20L for 5 kg.

    Wheat beer Ashbeck additions

Brilliant, thanks for the quick reply. What point do you add lactic acid?

    Wheat beer Ashbeck additions

Usually brew with tap water, but going to use Tesco Ashbeck. Entered the water profile in to Brewfather, but recommended additions seem quite far out from past threads on this site regarding Ashbeck. Any help would be appreciated.

    Brewzilla Robobrew question

So you have the malt pipe sitting on top of the pump inlet. Do you get lot more debris settling above the heating elements, possibly scalding the bottom

    Brewzilla Robobrew question

Haha, yes it was awful stuff but happy memories of drinking it though. I have thought about lagging the outside pipe. On a cold day in my garage the liquid exiting the circulation tube can easily be a couple of degrees lower than the unit's set temperature.

    Brewzilla Robobrew question

I try not to let the liquid overflow in to the pipe to avoid particles entering the pump. However if it's not causing issues, I can see the advantages regarding mash temperature.
