My latest brew looks more like kombucha than beer…

So This is my first brew using whole hops (home grown) and the picture below is 24hrs post pitch (whc LAX liquid yeast) I noticed when transferring to fermenter that there was a fair bit of “scuzz” but usually this settles out fairly quickly however this time it seems to have formed solid...

I think my beer is over attenuating post dry hop..... shall I cold crash now?

I currently have a Hazy IPA sitting in my fermzilla at 20c that hit FG 3 days ago 5 days since pitch using WHC Brexit yeast. I dry hopped and now the FG has started dropping further..... into the realms of over attenuation. It was supposed to finish at 1.014ish and now its closer to 1.011...

Just acquired more allotment space, which hops to grow along side my Chinook and Centennial?

I currently have 2 x Chinook and 3 x Centennial in the ground and have just acquired space for probably another 5 plants. At the moment I tend to be brewing mostly Hazy IPA's and West Coast IPA's (shocker right?!). With the bombastic US/Aus/NZ varieties out of the question due to difficulties...

My small scale hop growing setup

The finished hop trellis at my allotment! Carb drops instead of batch priming to limit NE IPA oxidation?

Hi all! Last hazy IPA / NE IPA style brew oxidised heavily (supposed to be cloudy lemonade colour, looked quite orangey/brown and lost nearly all aroma and tasted quite dank/muted/naff. Main reason being oxygen entering fermenter when taking samples (have since fitted tap to fermenter) and dodgy...

    Halving recipes advice

Hello all, I recently brewed the Verdant Lightbulb All Grain Recipe kit from The Malt Miller. It tastes amazing, FG hit bang on and I got a lot of things right but there is still a lot to improve on and streamline... And rather than brewing 20L batch after 20L batch I have ordered the micro...

So now I know what diacetyl smells like...

I recently finished my first all grain brew with a good friend of mine using a G30 grainfather. The recipe we brewed was the American IPA by John Finch recipe kit from The Malt Miller. Fermentation went well with plenty of activity for 10/14 days (although a smaller krausen then expected) and...

    Hello from the South East

Hello! Having brewed a few extract kits I made the jump and purchased a Grainfather. I brewed my first batch a couple of weeks ago (John Finch American IPA recipe from Malt Miller) which ended fermentation smelling like popcorn.... (I’ll go in to more detail in the relevant forum) Whilst i wait...
