    Acquired a Pinter

If it's anything like a mini keg you might need to under prime it compared to a bottle. That's something I've only just realised and I'm yet to dial it in.

24l coolbox for £4.50 in argos

I picked one up in Home Bargains the other day for under a tenner if anyone wants one. I took it camping and since it dropped below zero I was able to refreeze my ice packs on the ground :D

Jose Mourinho: Tottenham sack manager after 17 months

According to some of the news reports he refused to take training as a protest to the new big money league. If that is true then good on him!

    What BBQ?

How about a nice fire pit and then cooking on that?

    European Super League

I think the main difference is that this essentially becomes a closed shop. The Premier League was about getting more money whilst still allowing smaller clubs to have the opportunity of playing in the big league. I never had Sky Sports and stopped following F1 when it switched to Sky. In a way...

What kit beer are you drinking tonight?

Camping in mid Wales with the dog. Got the last ever bottle of El Chupacabra Primo (a funky Wilko Cerveza). Bottled last August, it's awesome.

What kit beer are you drinking tonight?

A wise person once told me to keep a bottle from each batch to one side and leave it age. This is the last bottle from my second ever brew. There's an asterisk on the top that denotes this was the "dregs" of that batch. It's a Cooper's 86 days with bonus malt wheaties because why not. It tastes...

    Tight

I sanitise in the bath too. If your bottle jig works then it's not stupid, good idea!

    How to make Turbo Cider.

Thanks for the suggestions but in the end I used it to clean the drains. I'll get some demi johns for small scale experiments in future.

    How to make Turbo Cider.

It's more vinegary than last week. On the plus side I put some in a spray bottle and my sprayed my trouser legs and trainers and it stopped my dog wanting to bite them. So I guess I now have a massive batch of something the dog dislikes, which is handy.

    How to make Turbo Cider.

Just tested the 24L batch, it's done. Gonna leave to cool for a week. It's very bitter and very dry. Not sure if there is a hint of vinegar so I don't know if I have screwed it or if that is just the bitterness that will fade. I guess in a week it will either taste more or less of vinegar...

    I it generally cheaper

It can be as cheap or expensive as you want it to be. But with the minimum unit pricing we have now in Wales you could buy the basic equipment and a beer kit and still save money. Using this calculator I can see that 40 pints of 4.5% beer should be no less than £51.12 You can get everything you...

    Lager carbonation

If it tastes sweet then a lot of the sugar you used to prime hasn't fermented yet which is why it is flat. If you test this with a hydrometer and compare it to the reading you had when you bottled you should see it's higher.

    Cleaning a syphon tube

Sudden thought - I just tied the knot on one end but I think if I tied both ends together I could just continually cycle it through.

    Cleaning a syphon tube

Just dropped it through, it's smaller than the internal diameter of the pipe which is why I had to tie the knot

    Cleaning a syphon tube

Today whilst cleaning my gear ready to bottle I noticed there was some black spots inside my syphon tube. Clearly I hadn't dried it properly after using it last time. I tried flushing with hot water and that didn't work so I grabbed some paracord I have, I guess any string or thin rope would...

    How to make Turbo Cider.

24L batch done, mostly Aldi apple juice but also added a couple of litres of their pineapple, and orange juices. Also brewed up some ginger too, that way the drink will be medicinal :D Haven't put the heat on yet as I don't know how vigorous it'll brew, since I'm using the slurry from a kit...

    Does Kit Fermenting Smell?

I brew in the shed. It's easily doable with a heat pad and some insulated jackets. If you have any outbuildings with power it's an alternative to consider.
