Amazing! Thankyou so much, the recipe says it should end up about 3.8% so good to know I won't be far off

    Help with SG

Hey all, I got a homebrew book for Xmas and have tried out one of the recipes for strawberry beer (I've scaled it down from 5gal to 1gal to trial it first) The recipe calls for 700g of strawberries to be added on day 4 of fermentation. After straining and mashing all the liquid from the...

    Floating trub?

I had suspected the coconut might be the factor here, I've put fruit in my brews before but never coconut. Would make a lot of sense esp as I used a protofloc tablet which might've caused the grain sediment to bind up with the coconut. Either way I don't mind too much, I've taken 12 months...

    Floating trub?

Hey all, So today I decided to brew a recipe I've been tinkering with for a pina colada neipa I'll not go too much into the recipe other than to say it involves dessicated coconut (no preservatives) and pineapple. Normally I reduce trub/sediment in my fermenter by cold crashing/whirlpooling...

    Lactose stouts/porters

Thanks for this, and yes I've had half pints of lacto-beers before without much of an issue, but a pint has been enough to send me home with the dreaded cramps before now too!

    Total newbie. Still confused

If your kit came with some tubing you could cut an inch off the end and use it as a kind of connector between the FV lid and your airlock... Hope you get it sorted chief!

    Lactose stouts/porters

Hey all, looking for a bit of advice ahead of a brew I have planned... I'm looking to do a salted caramel stout but more or less all the recipes I've looked at involve lactose and I'm unfortunately lactose intolerant! Does any lactose make its way into the final beer or is it all eaten up by...

    Hello from the allotment

Wow sorry haven't been active for last few days! Lots of replies here so... It's one of the sites in Meersbrook Park, Norton Lees. It's the bigger end of the scale at 300 sq metres. True, once I get some of the more basic techniques down I'll try my hand at beer again.

    Hello from the allotment

Hi everyone, I'm Jack aka plotmaster Based in Sheffield I'm in my first year of allotmenting and at the start of lockdown decided to try my hand at brewing beer Quickly finding I was useless at brewing from grain I decided to utilise the many wild fruits growing on the allotment. As well as...
