What is the best beer you've tasted abroad?

Litovel from the Brewery tap in Moravia, Czech Republic. I'm gonna be greedy and have a second. Geuze at La Mort Subite in Brussels. Brewed on site since antiquity, wild yeast, and unique. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Worst thing you've done..

The classic case of Donohue vs Stevenson. Established the duty of care principle. :thumb:

AG Fullers ESB with Klarstein boiler / MT

The boil was pretty vigorous. The double wall Klarstein comes to the boil quicker than my Burco. Our post boil volume was 18l at 1072 so we will liquor back by 5l to hit 1054. Pitched it with Danstar ESB yeast.

AG Fullers ESB with Klarstein boiler / MT

The Klarstein. Shiny! Mashing in. Sparging. Bittering hops in a bag as they're pellets

AG Fullers ESB with Klarstein boiler / MT

Boil's on now. Collected 24l of wort according to our collection FV which I don't trust, think it's under. Total liquor vol was 31.5L.

AG Fullers ESB with Klarstein boiler / MT

Thanks, I was trying to post a pic but struggling by mobile... I think it's my email sig showing the blog. Cheers for that!

AG Fullers ESB with Klarstein boiler / MT

Doing Wheeler's ESB recipe today, with malt and hip bill courtesy of Malt Miller. We have a new toy... a stainless double walled temp-controlled boiler by Klarstein. It has a false bottom so we're using it as a mash tun today. Heated the liquor up to 75 Deg strike temp in the Klarstein...

    AG#11 - Brownout Ale

    Undersparged a bit and got about 18L at 1082. Was aiming for about 1060 so to liquor back: 18 * 82/60 = 24.6 24.6 -18 = 6.6L water Will add tmrw.

    AG#11 - Brownout Ale

I can't believe its been 10 months since I last brewed, but I guess I've been enjoying my stockpile :drink:  I did #9, a big tripel, which has matured quite nicely, and the tenth was an undocumented small beer brewed on the trub of that, which I prefer right now. For this beer I...

    AG#9 - Isaac's Tripel

I did think that 1016 was still high, and there was a definite residual sweetness to the taste (not unexpected for the style though). I did not raise the temp in the primary, which was sitting in a room with an ambient randing from 15 to 20 ish C. Should I have tried a few days with the brew...

    AG#9 - Isaac's Tripel

Bottled last night, tasting absolutely amazing already, I have extreme high hopes for this. FG was 1016 and I added a little priming sugar.

    AG#9 - Isaac's Tripel

Thanks, that's my usual approach. Its tempting to fiddle around with these things but I've always got better beer when I've left alone.

    AG#9 - Isaac's Tripel

Right, this is still bubbling away through the blow off tube after two weeks in the primary! I am inclined not to worry, as everything was well sanitised and is sealed up (apart from the blow off, bubbling through sanitised water solution), just wondered whether anyone with more...

    AG#9 - Isaac's Tripel

Cheers. I always come up slightly short and strong on wort, so it was about 20.5L at 1086. I have liquored back today with cooled boiled water to 23L which should give me more or less what I wanted, 1077.

    AG#9 - Isaac's Tripel

Good job I used a blow-off tube - not seen such a strong fermentation before.

So daft we did it again - 120 L cider using a juicer!

Hi, and thanks! Your point is rather interesting because my cider making/drinking mates feel that flavour has a lot to do with leaving it 'on the lees'. Last year I racked mine relatively soon after primary fermentation and although it is beautifully clear, it does taste rather thin compared to...

    AG#9 - Isaac's Tripel

Pics! Hit just over my mash temp with a strike temp of about 80C and a little cool water added. Hardly budged over the mash period, wrapped the tun in loads of old curtains. Sparging Made a pint and a half starter of OG1040 DME the day before. Had reached a nice Krausen by the time of...

    AG#9 - Isaac's Tripel

I wanted to try something inspired by the Belgian Tripels we know and love. So, after playing around with a recipe a little bit here, I brewed up yesterday. A few small changes to what I'd discussed - when I added 200g torrefied wheat I forgot to remove the equivalent MO, so slightly bigger...
