    Plate filter advice

Hi, Can anyone answer a couple of questions about plate filters please? Do they produce clear beer and does it remove flavours from the beer? I guess some yeast flavour may be removed as this is filtered out. Thanks in advance

    First time Corny keg user

Hi Tess, I bought a corny lid that is adapted for use with a ball float, it has a post built into the lid and the ball float connects to this. With this set-up the beer out post is redundant so I just left the long tube in place. The lid and ball float cost about £35 from BrewKegTap, they are...

Beer shelf life in a corny

Thanks, I’ve just invested in a kegerator so should be able to hold the beer in CO2, so it’s good to hear that the beer should keep a while. Thanks for the advice.

Beer shelf life in a corny

Hi, I’m in my second year of brewing and over this time I have modified my set up and technique using advice from this forum. My beer is has improved a lot thanks to all the insights offered. Currently I’m transferring beer from the FV to a corny, after which I’ll bottle condition or force...

    Corny float kit

Thanks for all the replies, I’ve tried 3 different connectors and food grade lube without success but the supplier has been good enough to send a specific connector to try and get it to work. I may just end up using the gas outlet post or replacing the dip tube or just accept a few cloudy pints...

    Corny float kit

Hi, I bought a kegland floating ball kit that comes with a lid to replace the standard corny lid. The new lid has a post to which the tubing and float attach. The idea is that you can draw off beer from the top of the corny rather than the bottom so, in theory, get clearer beer. I’m using the...

    Keg conditioning

Hi Another newbie question here: I’ve brewed a winter ale and it’s had 2 weeks in the FV. I’m planning on force carbonation in a corny. My lab is to do a closed transfer from the FV to the corny with CO2 then leave to settle for a couple of weeks (week 3 and 4) before transferring to another...

    Bottling after carbonation

Hi, I’ve had some bad experiences in my youth when my dad brewed and bottles burst everywhere, so I’m mentally scared! I also prefer to minimise the yeast in the bottles.

    Bottling after carbonation

Yes I’m relying on the temperature of the garage, the 19L corny is too big for my brewing fridge. Any ideas on what methods are used to maintain the temp, I assume that it’s a bigger fridge or a kegerator.

    Bottling after carbonation

Hi Sadfield, thanks for taking the time to reply.Good to know that it's only the headspace gas I'm losing. I'm brewing English bitter at 2.4 vols of CO2, I use Brewfather to get the pressure levels. Unfortunately the garage, which is normally cool has been at 14'C because of the hot weather...

Thanks Moorbs, that's great. I was about to buy a Nukatap as I have two gas sources each with a regulator. I'll give this a try. Good luck with your system.

    King Keg barrel gas line

Hi, Can anyone offer some advice please. I have a King Keg Barrel with a Sodastream adapter to which I attach a Sodastream cylinder directly to the barrel. I also have a gas regulator with a Sodastream adapter to which a cylinder can be attached and a 3/8'' gas line for the CO2 outlet. Does...
