    Returning homebrewer

Mangrove Jack's are very good kits as well, probably my favourite kits. Festival are also decent. A good tip that's been posted a lot on here is to ignore the timings the kits tell you and instead leave to ferment for 2 weeks, carbonate for two weeks then condition for at least 2 weeks, but...

Would I be able to brew something in time for Xmas?

Mangrove Jack's do a belting wheat beer.

Hi Jay, I'd start by buying a fermenting bucket, a heat pad or heat belt, a thermometer, a hydrometer, a stirring paddle, a sample tube, a Turkey baster, a bottling wand, a temperature controller, a corny keg or bottles...or both, a tap, tubing for siphoning from fermenter to keg...or bottles...

Would I be able to brew something in time for Xmas?

Has anyone tried any of the new Lovebrewing kits? I'm thinking of getting the Old Reptonian IPA as it has a blackcurrant taste apparently. Siren do an IPA called undercurrent which has a blackcurrant taste and it's really nice, so I'm hoping it's similar to that.......?

Powdered hop extract - Admiral's Reserve

For the cold crash, did you set it up to draw Co2 back into the fermenter as the temp dropped? If not, it will have sucked air back in instead, and you dont want that,

CO2 Flushing bottles/minkegs with fizzy water?

Hi DocAnna, do you know if there is something similar to this but for the S30 type bottles of CO2?

How long does it take for a beer to carb up when bottle conditioning?

It wont be enough time for it to carbonate/condition so you'd be entering a beer knowing it wasn't ready/at it's best,....... just to be told exactly that by the judges. You could always bang it in and keep schtum to see how good the judges are 😁

I've just had this same kit delivered...... and when I make it I'll be waiting at least 14 days before adding the hops. Let the yeast have time to do its thing, as others have said...patience is key. Let me know how it turns out, Love Brewing claim its the best pilsener on the market.

    What/who got you into brewing?

My dad as well, he used to brew back in the 70's and 80's when I was a kid. The kits back then were really **** compared to today's options. Bitter, stout, lager....... think that was about it. He used to ferment it in a plastic fermenter and then keg within a rotakeg barrel. Being a kid I cant...

    Have I lost the plot?

Anyone offended by an April fools needs to have a word with themselves. Good to see someone keeping up the tradition 😁

    Will Smith slap.

Will Smith should have been booted out. If it was any of us doing that at some event then you'd be hauled out by security. He's an A lister so not only did they let him stay but he went onstage again to give an acceptance speech. The Oscar's organisers bottled doing the right thing in my opinion.

    How Much Grain?!?!

Hi Basa......what sort of equipment are you using? I'm asking because I'm considering moving from kits to AG and cant decide whether to start off with a large pot and and a bag........or to dive in and go all in one....... so just curious what you're using and how you find it.
