first all grain just kegged but tastes a bit like the smell of the grains.

Thanks everyone. I was hoping it’s more likely a matter of time and not someone saying you’ve done XYZ wrong and that’s why lol. Would you say force carb is the best way to condition? I don’t mind if it’s better to use sugar and do it that way

first all grain just kegged but tastes a bit like the smell of the grains.

So I’ve just kegged my first all grain brew (CrossMyLoof London pride clone), I had a quick taste to see what it was like. Now it wasn’t awful, however the taste of it was a bit like the smell of the grains when I opened the pack. Is this that I’ve done something wrong, or that the beer just...

Moving beer from pressure barrel to corny keg

It’s a London pride clone so I wouldn’t say heavily hopped

Moving beer from pressure barrel to corny keg

Hi all. I’ve run out of the little gas bottles for my pressure barrel and ideally I’d like to move my brew to my newly purchased corny. Is there a way without introducing too much oxygen? I don’t fancy having to spend more money on a barrel that I want to stop using.

    Brewzilla mash temp question

Hi all. Doing my first all grain, and I’m wondering if anyone knows how much of a difference there is between the temperature at the bottom where the probe is and the top especially when mashing. I’m supposed to have a mash temp of 65, however at the top of my brewzilla I’m hitting around the 60...

    Plastic pressure barres with nukataps?

Morning all. Hope everyone’s had a great Christmas! I’d like to make a kegorator, however due funds I wouldn’t be able to buy corny kegs, taps etc. Is it possible to use the plastic pressure barrels I’ve currently got and connect them up to a nukatap and co2 regulator?

Is a brewzilla, bucket & pressure barrel enough for all grain brews?

The brewzilla comes with a coil chiller in the pack. I believe that it has everything needed for the all grain part 🙂

Is a brewzilla, bucket & pressure barrel enough for all grain brews?

Morning all. After a few posts and a good amount of reading. I think I’m ready to take the plunge and buy a brewzilla package. I’ve done extract brews before, so have buckets and pressure barrels already. Will this be all I need to now do some all grain brews? I’m hoping to also get a fridge...

    Base grain for most brews?

My shed is full lol however I think my loft will be fairly chilly so could be an option.

    Base grain for most brews?

Thanks for the really detailed response. Yes I should have said I mainly will brew ales and bitters. But may try a lager at some stage but believe that I need to cold crash lager and haven’t got that option right now

    Base grain for most brews?

Morning all. I’ve nearly taken the plunge with a brewzilla setup but thought I’d check the prices of all the ingredients. For some reason I thought all grain brewing was going to be a cheaper exercise but looking at all the recipes they all seem to want a different pale malt. If buying in bulk...

    Digiboil or Klarstein?

What did you opt for on the cooling front?

    Digiboil or Klarstein?

Ah ok I was looking at the 30l I think

    Digiboil or Klarstein?

I’ve seen the b grade ones but they are still £215. Not seen any other ways to get it cheaper?

    Digiboil or Klarstein?

It comes with the malt tube if you go for the package. So does the Klarstein I believe.

    Digiboil or Klarstein?

Hi all, think I’ve narrowed down my choice to one of these two all in one setups. Does anyone have any reason to buy one over the other? From what I’ve seen I’d need a separate cooler for the digiboil but that seems to be about it?

    Heater for mash tun?

We do have a pot but don’t think the mrs will be happy with me cutting holes in it for taps 😂 I was thinking of trying a smaller batch first some how to see how I get on

    Heater for mash tun?

I do agree with you about the whole plastic and being heated up to those temps. My mum said she has a big metal pot, going over there later to see them so with a bit of luck it’s something like a nice 35l steel one 😂 but we will see
