    For sale - 9 DJs

Haven't been online much for a while as I've moved house and haven't really got much space to brew, hence the reduction in the amount of DJs that I need. I have 7 clear and 2 brown ones looking for £30 for all of them. I live in Bishops Stortford for collection.

Not the news I wanted to hear...

Sorry to hear this. Just remember that your long term health is more important then a career no matter how much you love it. But only you can make that decision, as you know what will mean the most to you. I've got a split cartilage in my right knee, but because of where the tear is, it plays...

    Silly bottling question.....

I prefer using screw cap bottles over the cork ones. So much easier and quicker.

    Pumpkin wine

Maybe a bugger to wash it out after though. Get a 5 litre water bottle from Tescos and use that, will probably be a lot easier in the long run.

    Pumpkin wine

I tried making it last year. After spending ages grating all the pumpkins, I left them in the fridge for too long and went mouldly! I'm planning on trying again this year though. I think you should fill the spare bucket up with pumpkin..... :thumb:

    Wine bottles

Give them a good rinse, then leave a steriliser in the bottle for 15 mins, I use VWP myself. I soak the caps in a bowl of steriliser to make sure they are ok. Give them a good rinse after and you are good to go! I've not had a problem with doing mine like this yet (famous last words!). Just be...

Is a year in the bottle necessary for wine made from fruit?

Give it 2 months to mature in bulk though and it's one of the best wines I've even drunk!

    Dry airlocks

Could send her the bill, but as we work together I'm trying to keep it as amicable as possible, especially as a large portion of people where I work are like gossiping school kids! She loved tidying up the house, and when she was sorting stuff out, she probably assumed they were mouldy or...

    Dry airlocks

I'm hoping it has! Just leaving it to settle for a bit in the garage first.

    Dry airlocks

Thanks for all the advice guys. Unfortunately, just picked up the remaining bits of my stuff, the 2 cider buckets are now in the back of the van, but the wines had already been thrown away before I got there. I was planning on replacing the screw caps with the airlocks in them for solid ones...

First ever attempt at wine, bottling questions

I started off with corks, went to screw caps though. Just find them much easier and quicker. Also, you don't have to keep buying corks and a corker.

    Dry airlocks

That's what I was thinking, that it may just be going down the drain. But will the ciders be ok? No airlock on them and I think the bucket lids are sealed. I never had time to rack them off the dead yeast and that before I moved out

    Dry airlocks

Just wondering if anyone can help me with a question. Basically, I've moved out of the home I shared with the misses, and I know the airlocks for my wines have been dry for about 2 months now (as I haven't been there). I put them on to ferment about 4 months ago so they are still sitting on all...

    Can you read electronic schematics?

For the LED, isn't it the wrong way round? Personally, I would keep it in so you know it's switched on.

    Can you read electronic schematics?

I can read schematics, but can't work out what that box is for. C4 and C5 are in parallel so their values are added together for the total capacitance. Do you know what IC it is that is in that box? If you do, Google the datasheet then you should be able to work out what that section does...

    waiting out the clock

Glad to hear everything turned out fine! I remember seeing my first one, I was 12 and it was my best friend at scholl. It was horrible to watch, and must be even worse when it's your child.
