    Kit recommendations please!

Interesting, I was really looking forward to it after hearing everybody rave about it. I was very, very disappointed, I don't like it. It's been about 6 weeks since its been bottled and tried 3 or 4 bottles and I dont like the taste.

What's happened to Burton Bridge kits?

Yes, that is what I am afraid of. Pity.

What's happened to Burton Bridge kits?

Yes, I have tried a number, I frequently use Woodforde's, both Nelson and Admiral. Wherry was o.k. but not as good. The 2 Festival kits I tried I wasn't impressed with the Landlords I threw away, the Razorback was drinkable but I didn't find it great, unlike most other people. The Muntons...

What's happened to Burton Bridge kits?

Looks like I may have to find a new "Regular" Beer kit. Shame.

What's happened to Burton Bridge kits?

I have been brewing the Burton Bridge Extra Strong Bitter as my "usual" brew, while alternating with something else to try, but nobody seems to have it in stock, and haven't for a while. It seems to be the case for all their kits. Anyone know whats happening?

    Belt in Oil

I cant remember what the mileage recommendation was, about 60,000 perhaps, but the problem with belts is that they deteriorate over time as well as mileage wear. Once had a belt go on a Fiat Marea, well under mileage and almost bang on date, very expensive.

    Belt in Oil

I nearly bought a Honda Civic Type R, 3 years old low mileage. Doing my research I found out it had a cambelt in oil, and that the cost of replacement was nearly £2k. Replacement period was 6 years (3 more years) just the time I would have changed the car, so walked away.

Rumour? is Wilko's going into administration?

It's not just the homebrew section, their paint section has very limited stocks in all the local stores and has done for weeks. Used to be a good store, but nowadays always seem to be short of stock and only ever have one till open trying to force people to use self service checkout, but always...

    Evri.....

I recently had a parcel that should have been next day delivery took 2 weeks with EVRI, and only delivered after seller chased them 3 times, appalling service.

    Stalled fermentation?

If you take 2 or 3 readings on consecutive days you will see if is still active or stalled. If the readings are the same, no matter what they are, it has stalled, if they change then it's still active, maybe just slow.

    Tips on syphoning

I use a wand on the end of pipe using it as a Syphon. This works well, it was when l added the pump Syphon that the air got in so I went back to the manual Syphon and everything was fine again. As I said might have been because it was a cheap pump Syphon but happy without it, just get a mouthful...

    Tips on syphoning

Have to say the one I bought was pretty useless. I bottle straight from the FV and air got in each time and not only introduced air into the bottle but meant I had to pump each time, so I went back to just pipe and wand.It might have been cos it was a cheap one.

Powdered hop extract - Admiral's Reserve

I am pretty new to this and have so far brewed Wherry, Nelson's, a Minton's IPA/Bitter and Admiral twice. The first time I did the Admiral I added the hops after 3 days as per the instructions and it seemed to stop the fermentation dead, in fact the FSG ended being higher than expected. It still...

    Bus passes

I got my bus pass a year ago, but haven't used it yet, why? Because there are no buses. I have a very bad knee so can't walk to the next village to catch a bus. There would be little point though because that bus doesn't go to the nearest town, just shuttles between another village and a large...

    E10 petrol

Unfortunately one of my bikes, a 2001 Triumph RS Sprint, has a plastic fuel tank which E10 eats, mind you E5 did it as well only more slowly. Thankfully Esso's super expensive E5 actually doesn't contain any Ethanol in our area. How long that will last I don't know.

    Simply Pale Ale fail

This is a question really, not a suggestion because I am a novice, but MZonard says that he/she puts the bottles through the dishwasher and then cling films them. Is this enough to ensure they are clean and sanitised?

    Brew2Bottle Customer Service

Because I don't have a homebrew shop near me I have to buy nearly everything online which can make things expensive with p&p. I would be lost without eBay.
