St Peters Ruby Red Ale review

This kit is my favourite. I think I have done around 30+ brews over the past 3 years, and after much experimentation, I have arrived at adding half a kilo of demorarer sugar and the results for me have been superb. Really superb, I mean REALLY SUPERB! it comes in at about 5.8%abv. But the...

    my Keg has a leak!!

If its seepage more than a leak, just draw a glass off to relieve the pressure and you'll be fine. These plastic kegs are a bit hit an miss I'm afraid. I always bottle about 6 or 7 litres as insusrance and keg the rest. I find that using two 'O' rings in the cap works better as well. I think the...

Lots of head on my Wherry

Snip about 4 inches of your siphon tube, wrap one end in PTFE tape to build up the diameter without sealing the end, stuff it up your PB's tap. Hold your glass so that the bottom of the tube is in the bottom of the glass. Open the tap slowly.... hey presto. You can pour a decent pint quickly and...

Also, does it need to condition, and if so for how long? Many thanks. All the best for 2014 everyone and a...

    Bottle Rinsing

Has anyone used one of these things? http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002H3UWR4/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 There's only five reviews on Amazon and I wonder how long it would last. It doesn't look particularly sturdy.

Just my opinion but you run more risks buy transferring it than leaving it.

    st peters ruby red.

I've done loads of St Peters RRA, IT's my favourite kit. Never used finings, only ever used normal white granulated sugar for priming. Always a great pint!

    degassing

I've just remembered that I bottled 6 bottles of wine last weekend and I forgot to degass (I had stopped the yeast though several weeks before). Will this cause problems or will it just be slightly fizzy? Thanks.

    Chlorinated Water

My water always smells of chlorine so I fill a bucket, chuck in a ground campden tablet and let the water stand for half an hour or so before adding it to the wort in the FV. (I brew from kits at the moment). This has always worked and I have always had nice beer and never had off flavours. I...
