Apple wine, to rack, or not to rack?

Got to ask, why so much sugar? Does it all brew out?

    Apple and Mango turbo cider.

Mine restarted when I chucked in some extra yeast, (Young's super.) Just about finished now.

Cider from real apples vs cider from supermarket juice

"Not from concentrate" apple wine on the go here... "Innocent" apple juice was on offer at Moggies, so I bought a few.

    "If you start me up...

Cheers butty! They were still in the warm kitchen, and still had the bubblers in. I'll leave them in place and see how long the, now sporadic, bubbles occur for.

    "If you start me up...

I'll never stop." .. to quote Mr Jagger. I had two demijohns of Apple wine/cider on the go. After about a week they stopped, from what had been a fairly vigorous, bubbling. I left them for a week, with no bubble. Go everything ready to start transferring to another couple of demijohns to let...

    Cider yeast?

I've started two demijohns of "Innocent" apple juice, using Young's "Super wine" yeast. Reading some threads here it looks like I should have used a "cider yeast". Predictions? Thoughts?

What' the most memorable (not necessarily in a good way) pub you've ever drunk in...?

Supermarket Juice Wine How To guide and Recipes.

Call me boring, but I've gone back to basics. No more "guava, star fruit and lychee" wine for me, too many disasters. Pure, ordinary, wines from apples and oranges, (maybe grapefruit.) Risking it I know, but is there any white grape juice going anywhere?

Supermarket Juice Wine How To guide and Recipes.

Cheers butty. But is it still cider even if it makes, say, 16% ABV?

Supermarket Juice Wine How To guide and Recipes.

Not wanting to read through 149 pages, (no offence,) can anyone point me at any recipe or advice for making pure apple juice wine? Wine made without using grape juice, just apple juice, as grape juice is like rocking horse urine around here. Cheers m'dears.

    In the brown.

Not being able to see what's occurring in the DJ is the main disadvantage, esp, as CT says, when cleaning.

    In the brown.

I ws recently gifted two brown demijohns. The disadvantage of these is obvious, but are there any advantages?
