    Kopperberg Mixed Fruit Tropical

Yes that was always my fear with post ferment flavouring, but nothing as yet, a few bubbles but the airlock hasn't moved an iota. I started with 2 tbsp of Xylitol, but wasn't sweet enough for me, so added another one. Sweetening for me is whatever suits your taste. I like it sweet but not...

    Kopperberg Mixed Fruit Tropical

Brewed it out to exactly 1.000 yesterday. I had a quick swig and it's definitely got a tropical fruit juice taste to it, but no precise mango, passion or pineapple flavours if that makes sense. Conditioning out now, I added a fair bit of Xylitol to sweeten it out, some Monin Passion Fruit syrup...

    Hard Seltzer?

Hi everyone, Wondered if anyone has any experience of brewing a fizzy hard seltzer? I have a few syrups and have always wondered if I could use these to brew out a basic fizzy watery alcohol? Here's what I'm thinking: Water (to make up just shy of 1 Gal/5ltrs) Sugar Flavoured syrup (the...

That's a great shout on those sanitising tablets I'd never have thought of that!

    Cider Brewing Question...

Hi @Skydiver From my experience: It's always best to get 'pressed' or 'not from concentrate' apple juice, I've done turbo cider in the past with the cheaper preservative type of apple juice, took longer then usual but still fermented out; maybe I got lucky. I've tried various yeasts in the...

    Kopperberg Mixed Fruit Tropical

So this has really taken off: Really bubbling well Got that orange brain forming of all the pulp And has a great colour to it. The smell coming from it is a really nice pineapple and mango smell. I honestly can't wait to try it, it's definitely cloudy I'll say that. Once I can get this...

Cheap Vs expensive hits and how well they age/last?

I've had wine kits bottled for about 2 years and never had an issue. They usually get drunk before that so can't comment on any longer. But I wouldn't say it should be an issue though.

    Kopperberg Mixed Fruit Tropical

So have decided to just chance a recipe and went on the fly: 3 ltrs Tesco pressed apple juice 1/2 ltr Tesco pressed pineapple juice 1/2 ltr Tesco pressed apple and mango juice 1/2 jar Tesco finest alphonso mango and passion fruit coulis (136g I think) 1/2 cup strong tea 1 tsp Pectolase 1g...

    Kopperberg Mixed Fruit Tropical

Hey brewers, I've left it a while now mainly due to the dreaded climate and not doing many festivals, but with everything opening back up I'm trying to get back into the brewing swing of things. I had previously tried brewing apple cider with fresh mango and passion fruit to mixed reviews. I...

    Flavouring Cider

Hi all, I was a long time homebrewer, gave up for a bit, and have now decided to return to a hobby I really love. I think this time I'm going to be sticking to cider, particularly, fruit flavoured cider. However, I recall during my time previously making ciders, making apple cider wasn't an...

Recommend A Good Session IPA Kit? (Or Similar)

Thanks so much guys, I saw a great starter kit which came with the American Beers IPA kit and added a 1kg DME pack with it so hoefully that does it! Beans

Recommend A Good Session IPA Kit? (Or Similar)

Hey guys, Trying to get back into this home brewing malarkey (I tend to do Ciders and Wines). However, my gaffer is about to leave and after ranting and raving about the perks of home brewing, I'd love to get him a Session pale ale kit (it's all he drinks). Plenty of places have equipment...

    Pasteurise DIY?

Thanks Scott. So once I'm ready to bottle, I prime, sweeten and then pasteurise. Cap and cool. Could I use a large DJ as opposed to individual bottles (as long as my pan is big enough?) Beans

    Pasteurise DIY?

Thanks Scott. How would you prime the bottles? Before pasteurising or one pasteurised?

    Pasteurise DIY?

Hey guys, Just wondering if there's a DIY on pasteurising at home? I'm tired of continual fermentation when I bottle (no matter how many times I rack/clear) and I also want to have a consistent sweetness to my brews. Currently doing a cider brew which is ferment ed and racked to which I...

    Help With Rose Petals/Lavender

I would like to try the lavender and rose petal brew recently posted in the recipe section and my mum has loads in her back garden. What she has asked me before I go collect is how I want them? I said picked, washed and then frozen; is this the correct to keep them fresh for my brew? Beans

    Blackberry & Rhubarb Cider

Defo give it a go berrycrumble, it's going off like a champ, no chance of me replacing the current airlock with the normal type, it just hasn't stopped one bit

Sainbury's - 3 For £4 on all Pure Squeezed Juices

Thought I'd put this in here for those who brew ciders or wines. Had this in my local and its all the pure squeezed not from concentrate stuff, including red grape and apple juice; quite a lot to choose from. Perfect if you can't get your hands on fresh fruit. Beans.

    Blackberry & Rhubarb Cider

    So after three whole days of not much action from this, I come home today to the overwhelming smell of yeast and this :o :shock: And it had sprayed everything in sight and covered the worktop. So I did a botch job overflow airlock type thing as suggested by chipp_tea;
