    Ace Microbrewery/Klarstein/Hopcat Pump Mod

A great idea - thanks - but when you say "cam locks" I presume you mean plumbing fittings produced under the "Camlocks" brand. It would be good if you told us which fittings you used from their range.

    Malt Miller?

Yes I know but (as I clearly stated in my previous post and what I was talking about !) they used to supply 25Kg malt in 5 x 5Kg sealed bags for £2.50 extra over a sack of 25Kg which I found very convenient.

    Malt Miller?

I sent a message to Malt Miller about this before Christmas but got no reply. On the new website if you look at "Ingredients" then choose "Base malts" and then choose the malt type you want you will find that you must choose the quantity per bag (500g upwards) - and only when you add that to...

From my records my latest brew, a 5 gallon BIAB 4% golden beer using crushed pale malt and USA hops cost 23p per pint (all ingredients and power usage). If I include depreciation of equipment (costs minus their second hand value) then over my 45 x 5 gallon brews then the cost is 31p per pint...

First Brew For Over 25 years

I've now finished 10 five gallon brews (where did those 400 pints go?) and am mashing my 11th at this moment. My all grain (BIAB) beers have been great and my other half has noticed the reduction in the cost of supermarket shopping trips i.e. far less beer in the trolley! This forum has been...

First Brew For Over 25 years

My second JHB style brew went in a Kingkeg and didn't have time to mature due to my regular quality testing. It was superb ! The third brew was a Crop Circle style beer and again is suffering from early quality sampling. I've now bought a further two kegs to allow me to build up stocks and allow...

First Brew For Over 25 years

Hi, I’m sampling the first bottle of my first brew for over 25 years. It’s a BIAB Oakhams JHB style beer and though a bit raw (only 2 weeks in the bottle) I reckon it’s rather good. Over the last few months I’ve scanned the forum for advice and use a 40 litre Buffalo boiler which I’ve...
