so last Thursday I put a new brew in using wilkos pear cider kit I got in the sale. I then added a bottle of caramel coffee syrup than was on offer in Lidl and burnt off a jar of honey, 500g muscavado sugar and 750g brown sugar to make a syrup. It has now settled down and has made a nice % of...

I am doing it like this too, have coopers cerveza in the FV at the mo, been in 5 days. Then I'm putting it into a PB with 2x tequila essence bottles. I don't like the stuff but have had requests. I'm leaving the lime out as some like it with and other without

got this on the go tonight and in less than 30 minutes I have bubbles in the airlock

all bottled today (in the bottles I had been saving for the black cherry port....) I'm not an amaretto drinker but it smells alright.

sorry if this has been covered, I did do a search. I have decided to stick some of my cider into a bag in a box. I have the bags but have come across a slight problem.... How do I get the cider in? Do I just pull the tap off? I know, daft question.... :D

mine went on today, delay getting the sugar :whistle: but there is far more involved than usual. Hope it turns out ok though

well have just done the final hydrometer reading for mine before putting the syrup in and it came out with a reading equivalent to 6.9%. The cider on it's own was quite pleasant too, but the smell once the syrup went in was lovely. Am looking forward to giving this one a whirl.

I work at a student halls of residence so just help myself to the glass in the glass boxes they leave out for recycling. They arent drinking enough though! I tend to get a lot of bud bottles from them which are pretty good

got it in now, went in during the week so will leave till next weekend then move over and add the sachet

so, was handed a bag the weekend from hwmbo as we had nipped into Dorset homebrew (well rude not to when it was round the corner). In it was a kit from these guys to make amaretto. Has anyone any experience of these, are they any good? To be honest have only done kit beers, ciders and turbo...

so, that one has been in second FV for just over a week, and made a second batch. That one got a bit overexcited the weekend but has now fermented out too so off that goes to 2nd FV

this sounds really nice, once I have an empty DJ might have to give this a go

:hmm: fermentation has gone from very lively to an almost stop.... bubble rising about every 5 seconds, is it ready to move to secondary FV?

It must be an epidemic then as I seem to have the same problem :evil: :drunk:

OK so in the last half hour I have been sitting here, the top thingy has gone then a white foamy one has appeared and the bubble valve really kicking off The white stuff is now easing off again. Also the lava lamp is back and the brew is getting lighter. One of the more interesting brews to watch
