    Wilkinson sale anyone?

I went in to my local wilkos today and they aren't even marked up as sale prices, and there are no signs suggesting there is any sale going on, they have just put a new price ticket on them. Maybe these are the new permanent prices

    Wilko sale now on.

I noticed last night that someone gave a heads up on a potential sale starting at Wilkos. It's now on. Some of the wilkos kits have a couple of quid off and their pressure barrels are now at £20 (£4 off). Apologies if this has been posted already. Zed.

    coopers australian lager problem

Have you taken a hydrometer reading? This is the only way to know if any fermentation has taken place. It may be that your lid wasn't sealed properly and as a result your airlock showed no activity.

    Vodka question

On the subject of vodka, has anyone tried this stuff? http://www.blackcow.co.uk . I spotted it in the supermarket the other day and was intrigued.

It states on the top "Not for use with external tapping units" :(

    Dodgy can or ok??

I would use them as normal and still send the pictures to wilko customer services, you never know they may send you 2 more kits to replace them. :D

    Possible win?

I have just been chatting to a nice lady who works in the local supermarket and they have been having a tasting weekend on some of the beers and wines they sell. We got chatting about the mini kegs and she has kindly given me 3 of them so I could reuse them. As their tasting promotion has now...

    Jewelers

I used to be the head office workshop manager for a nationwide watch repair company with a team of Swiss trained watchmakers with Rolex and Omega accreditation. I still have a lot of contact with one of these watchmakers (he's a drinking buddy and we usually see each other at least once a week)...

    Off The Mark

The bubbles are created as your yeast converts the sugars in your wort into alcohol :D . It will bubble like the clappers near the start (when there is lots of sugar) then slow down towards the end as most of the sugar has already been converted into yummy yummy alcohol.

Disappointing Head on my Bottled Coopers Stout

I've done 2 coopers stout kits but used dme in both and the head was decent both times. 1st time they were all in coopers pet bottles and the second was part keg part bottled. It may just be the lack of dme or as others have said it may be the glass you are using (or both).

Intro post - no bubbles in trap story

Welcome, there's nothing better as a new brewer than seeing and hearing your airlock going like the clappers. I still enjoy it now but I am still relatively new to it all myself.

    Find the Beer!

It's a good idea but couldn't be done through the official geocaching organisation as their rules state no food or drink should be placed due to wild animals being attracted to them (I'm not suggesting this was the idea but it must be considered). Add into this that it could potentially be years...

    Little (big) surprise.

I went to a party at a friends on Saturday night where my homebrew was given good praise from everyone, so much so that some people asked if they could take some home with them :D . My friend has just been round to return my keg, bottles and the spare fridge we used on the night and he also...
