    Fermentation & Kegerator Fridge + 2 AEB Kegs & CO2 - For Sale

Hi All, Alongside my other thread for sale of the hot side of my brewing setup, here's the details of the cold side. I'm selling a dual-use fermenting chamber and kegerator. Also included in the sale are 2 x AEB Kegs, both in great condition; a 6-way CO2 distribution board, CO2 tank, with...

Electric 2V Recirculating System - for Sale

Hi All, I've finally made the decision to sell my lovely brewing system, I'm going to be selling hot side and cold side separately, so look out for another listing for the fermenting & serving side! As my family has grown and my job has taken off over the last few years, I've had less and less...

BIAB PID build - advice on wiring, fan & connectors required

Apologies for the late reply on this, it's been a busy few weeks! Firstly, thanks to TexasPete for the informative reply. I thought about what you said and decided to go with another output, so I don't have to use the soldered output at all, at least not for anything high-current. Here is...

BIAB PID build - advice on wiring, fan & connectors required

Thanks Mark, that's good to know. I think I'm definitely going to add an earth to the heatsink/ssr. Does anyone have info on the double powercon connector? I'm hoping it'll be okay to resolder the output so it's coming from the SSR, rather than a linked output from the input. :hmm:

BIAB PID build - advice on wiring, fan & connectors required

The difference between STC-1000 style controllers and PIDs has been well documented on the forum, so I won't get into that here. I've got something very similar to that controlling temps on an IPA in my beer fridge right now, but for holding a BIAB system at mash temps for 90 minutes it's not...

BIAB PID build - advice on wiring, fan & connectors required

So having another little think about it, this seems like a better schematic. I'm hoping that I've got enough room for the 12v power supply and it seems sensible to replace the DPST switch with a toggle switch and power relay for the kettle output. I'd love to hear some opinions on various...

BIAB PID build - advice on wiring, fan & connectors required

Hello Folks, I'm close to building my first PID controller, nearly all of the parts have arrived and I've done a decent amount of research on wiring etc. I've got a few questions that I was hoping some kind soul might be able to help with. Firstly here are a few photos of the plans. From...

Jay's Electric Brewery Build - UK Version

Fantastic stuff so far Jay - I'm following your build with great interest (although well beyond any upcoming plans for me just yet) Looking forward to seeing the updates. All the best with it! :thumb:

    Beginner equipment kit

Agree with Fil entirely. Also worth mentioning that you won't get much in the way of big hop aroma kits in can-form, as the hop component responsible for that lovely aroma is quite volatile (essential oils basically) If you got an 11 litre pot on top of Fil's list (doesn't need to be fancy -...

Is my electric boiler safely grounded?

Okay, we're really getting into it now - thanks for all the info guys. This seems like a really good solution - thanks for the idea winnywood. I'm assuming that there's no chance of introducing more risk by doing this? Should I remove the L & N pins from the plug or no? I could quite easily...

    Beginner equipment kit

Yes, sorry I wasn't saying to go for the kit with the keg, rather that it's quite easy to put your own kit together. It sounds like you definitely don't need the keg! :D You don't actually need that much gear to be starting off with. I'm not a fan of Cooper's beer or their kits (bit bland...

    Beginner equipment kit

Hi Ren, The woodfordes wherry kit is a good starting point if you're into more traditional "real ale" style beer I think it only comes with as a keg kit, but tbh it isn't hard to put a little kit together yourself, you really don't need much to make a decent first brew. If you're into more...

Is my electric boiler safely grounded?

Thanks for the replies chaps, it's interesting reading your replies and thoughts on this. It's very easy to add an extra earth cable into the elements that have screw/solder elements at the power end (the kind of elements used in the US "electric brewery" build) but this one terminates in a...

Is my electric boiler safely grounded?

Cheers guys! :thumb: Nobyipa - great idea, that's thinking outside of the box! (well for me it is anyway) Multimeter has been bumped to the top of the 'want/need' list. (we all have that list right!..) Cheers all

Is my electric boiler safely grounded?

Hello all, I've been wondering about this for a while now and not really found a definitive answer anywhere. I'm using a backer-style 2.4kw kettle element on my 70 litre boiler, with a self-made silicone washer on the inside, the rubber washer that came with it on the outside, a healthy dosing...

CFC 10mm - will 1/2" silicone tubing be okay?

Haha, surely the building of cool/shiny stuff is one of the great sides to this hobby? :thumb: Seriously though, if I can help with any advice, please ask away; There are obviously lots of people here much better qualified than I am to offer advice but I'd be very happy to help any way I can...

CFC 10mm - will 1/2" silicone tubing be okay?

Hello All, Apologies for not replying sooner. Thanks to Aleman and Bobsbeer for your advice. Much appreciated! I did a few experiments over the last few days and I did find that the 10mm end-end straight still felt a bit narrow. In the end I followed Bobsbeer's lead and went for 10-15 reducer...
